Found in South East Cornwall, the beautiful seaside town of Looe is always a favourite with families. The town is a working fishing port and is famous for its fresh fish and award-winning fish and chips.
Families wanting to spend a holiday in Looe, Cornwall won’t be disappointed. Children will love crabbing on the quayside or exploring rock pools on the sandy beaches. The grown ups will love strolling through the large town which is packed with eateries and adorable boutique stores.
Looe is a short drive from the unspoilt fishing village of Polperro, a must visit! It’s also a close hop to Cardinham Woods where there are family walking and cycle trails and it’s only a forty minute drive from the famous Eden Project.
2. St. Ives
Oh St.Ives. There is something incredibly magical about the Cornish town of St. Ives and everyone who visits here falls madly in love with it. Even the drive in (or train ride) is stunning and the town itself is bursting with things to do for people of all ages.
The town attracts foodies, artists, couples and families. There are five sandy beaches surrounding the town and the ancient cobbled streets are packed with art galleries, eateries and boutique shops. The town offers an endless amount of activities from water sports to artist workshops and so much more!

Padstow is a charming but busy fishing port on the North Coast in Cornwall. Hailed a ‘foodie destination’ Padstow is so spoilt with a wide choice of delicious eateries that include restaurants owned by famous chefs such as Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth. Families will love the towns quirky little shops and surrounding beaches and a really fun way to get to Padstow is by bike.
The famous Camel Trail runs from nearby Wadebridge directly into Padstow. Families can either bring their own bikes or hire them for the day.
Padstow is also a short drive from the bustling town of Newquay and the sleepy village of Port Issac, made famous by the popular TV show ‘Doc Martin’. If you are looking for a family friendly place to stay nearby, I cannot recommend the award-winning Bedruthan Hotel enough!
