Finding the time and the energy to work out when you have a baby might sound a bit challenging. But you really don’t need a gym membership, the latest home running machine or even a babysitter in order to exercise.
The last thing you might want to do when you’ve had little sleep and you’ve got a hectic day ahead, is to work out. But, as much as I hate to be another one that chimes this: exercise actually makes you feel great!
It wakes you up, it releases endorphins and as a bonus, it can help you to get the body you really want.
When I first had Evie I scoured the internet for different workouts and quite frankly, it gave me a bit of a headache. I didn’t want something long or really intense, but I wanted short, fun work outs that I could fit in around my baby. I finally found some. Here are 3 workouts for busy mums:
Our first workout for busy mums is Blogilates. Instructor Casey Ho makes exercising so much fun. She’s happy. She’s motivating. She’s challenging. Her workouts are typically only a few minutes long which is perfect for fitting in around your baby or toddler. She has so many videos available and all for free on youtube.
You can even pick which body part you want to work on. You can mix and match videos, do full body workouts and if you really need motivation she has a monthly downloadable workout calendar, which gives you great daily workout challenges.

If you’re a busy mum looking for a more relaxing type of exercise, then try yoga. I have two incredible apps on my iPad. ‘Yoga’ and ‘Yoga Studio’. Both are great for beginners.
I love doing these before bed or if Evie’s napping. There are some great sets that really help you to wind down. Yoga not only helps you to tone up, but it strengthens your body and makes you feel really relaxed.
I occasionally do yoga when Evie’s absorbed with her toys. Sometimes she giggles at me when I’m doing downward facing dog and sometimes she even tries to join in. The changes in my body since doing yoga have been drastic.

If both of those still sound like they’d take up more time and effort than you have, then how about a nice, simple 15 minute full body workout?
Our third workout suggestion for busy mums is by Hannah, a mum and parent blogger over at Mums Days. She has created a 15 minute full body workout, devised by a top personal trainer. Hannah knows how hard it is to squeeze in a work out with children. But she set herself a 30 day challenge recently and looks amazing for it.
I’ve tried this workout several times now and boy does it work those muscles you’ve forgotten about. If you need more motivation or a sense of community, then she’s also started up a fit club online where you can check in, motivate each other and set monthly goals.
