Taking part in #LittleLoves every week, makes me realise just how fast weeks fly by! It doesn’t feel like yesterday that I wrote my last post for this series.
This week has been completely hectic in all the best ways. My blog turned 3 this week and I’ve been working around the clock to try and make my traditional week of giveaways happen. I feel so happy where I am with this blog at the moment and the direction it’s going in and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings for this little space.
A 3rd Blogiversary, A Cute Koala Called Kevin And A Week Of Giveaways #LittleLoves
This week has been all about working on my week of giveaways, updating Evie’s bookshelf, trying to choose a dress for Valentines and celebrating three whole years of Life Unexpected:
The Koala Who Could –
Ok, so if you’ve been following this series, you’ll know that I’ve been trying to read ‘The Power‘ and that I’ve not been getting on very well with it. I have to admit, I gave up. I just really wasn’t in the mind frame to keep reading something that was irritating me. BUT…I do want to finish it one day so I will pick it up again soon. My next Amazon order of books is currently wheeling it’s way too me and I have two more of my ‘24 Books To Read In 2018‘ on their way to me today.
I’ve taken more pleasure in reading Evie’s books this week than my own. We updated her bookshelf too, put away the Christmas and Winter themed books (oops, left that a bit late) and replaced her shelf with her traditional ‘Spring Bookshelf‘ and also some new books that she chose at the bookshop. She picked up ‘The Highway Rat’, ‘Princess MirrorBelle’ and ‘The Koala Who Could’.
The Koala Who Could has fast become one of my favourite kids books and I love reading it to Evie before bed. One of my other favourite kids books is by the same author and it’s called ‘The Lion Inside’. Both books highlight how you have to change a part of yourself even if it’s scary, in order to have a better life. This one is all about sweet little Kevin, who felt so comfortable and safe in his home, that he never said yes to doing anything fun with his friends, even though he wanted to. In the end something terrible happened and Kevin’s house collapsed. Kevin was literally thrown out of his comfort zone and he realised that life on the ground, wasn’t as scary as he first thought.
These books are so lovely for teaching children about throwing themselves into things, even if they’re scary! The Lion Inside is also an amazing read, a must for any 3-8 year old.
Now You See Me 1 & 2 –
How have I never seen these films before? Now You See Me is about a group of magicians and illusionists who are thrown together to perform in front of millions so they can potentially join a greater, secret cause. In the first film they rob a bank, literally from where they are standing on the stage.
If you haven’t seen it before, go and watch it! It’s one of the first films that I’ve seen in a long time, where I couldn’t predict the end. I also love that they explain the illusions to you after they’re finished. It has a cast of very famous actors playing the leads, and both films are completely gripping to the very end.
It to 3 years? Does that count –
I have been so busy this week, we haven’t been crafty at all. But, I have been working really hard to put together a week of giveaways (I forgot how much time this takes) to say thank you to everyone who has read my blog. I am incredibly excited about this year, more so than any other year I’ve had yet. I have some really exciting brand collaborations coming up and I’ve also decided that it’s time to put my dreams of creating a planner into reality and I’ve started work on the design. I’m hoping to have it ready to release for the end of the year.
I’ve been having one to ones with a Life Coach (the lovely Emily from My Petit Canard) and she has been seriously helping to unblock my mind frame and go forward and pursue my goals. I’m someone who is often stopped in my tracks by fear of failure and also procrastination. Just having the occasional session with her has improved my business no end and has helped me to see how I can structure my time and move forward.
Valentines Dresses –
We have a month of celebrations ahead of us at the moment. Aitan just started his new job and also a new business alongside it. I have just celebrated three years and have started to create my first product and we’ve also started wedding planning as we’ve officially been engaged for six months now.
We happen to be child free on Valentines Day, so we’re making the most and are going out in full celebratory mode. But, I have no idea what to wear. I have three gorgeous dresses and I just can’t choose between them because they’re all so different. You can see more about them in my post ‘What Mama More – Help Me Choose My Valentines Dress‘ or in the vlog version below.
I would love to hear your opinion on which of the three dresses is your favourite! Excuse the champagne drinking in the video above. I always love a good excuse to celebrate!
Evie also got some new clothes this week. We’ve just teamed up with Frugi and were lucky enough to get to review a beautiful outfit from their new season collection.
Evie chose a pink dress, a breton striped top and a cardigan with colourful buttons. She looks so adorable and I love the quality of their clothes. You can find out more about them in my Frugi post here.
Blogiversary Giveaways –
I have a whole week of giveaways planned and I want them to cover each section that I write about. On Thursday I relaunched my interview with a ‘Mum In Business’ series and the first giveaway goes side by side with that. The lovely Sally, who I interviewed, creates gorgeous, delicious hampers that have been designed especially for new Mums.
You can enter to win one of her hampers in my post ‘Mum In Business Featuring: Mums Back‘. I also write about fashion, travel, Cornwall, parenting and life with a pre-schooler. You can expect giveaways for all of those sections throughout the week. Some things I’ll be giving away include toys, games and even a camera!
I am also still running a giveaway to win a Charlotte Tilbury ‘Scent Of A Dream’ perfume as part of my ‘Valentines Gift Guide’. You can check that out here!
I also wanted to run a giveaway for #LittleLoves this week and I’ve been umming and ahhing for ages about what it could be. I’ve decided to make it a book voucher because that seems to be everyones favourite section in this post. I also constantly get people telling me they want to read a little bit more.
So, for your chance to win a £20 Waterstones voucher, simply enter via the rafflecopter below.
To everyone who regularly reads my #LittleLoves posts and leaves me such lovely comments, thank you so much. You completely brighten up my week, so this is my little thank you to you!
