Autumn is one of our favourite seasons as a family. We definitely make the most of Autumn and try and do as many seasonal themed kids activities as possible. If you’re looking for some easy and fun Autumn activities for kids, then you are definitely in the right place. Here’s…

5 Autumn Activities For Kids

Below you’ll find a good mixture of both indoor and outdoor activities. All of these can be done with both babies, toddlers and older kids.

1. Make a Leaf Crown

One thing we love doing every Autumn is going to the woods, collecting loads of leaves and then making artwork out of them. This year we’re going to be making a leaf crown with Evie. To do this, simply cut out a piece of card that will fit the circumference of their head. Stick it together with glue and then decorate the circle with all the colourful leaves you find in the woods. We’ll also be sprinkling ours with some glitter to make it extra sparkly!

2. Blackberry picking

Every year ‘blackberry picking‘ is at the top of our Autumn bucket list. As soon as Autumn hits you’ll find us in our local lanes, tupperware boxes in hand, collecting as many blackberries as we can find! If you’ve not done it before, it’s so easy. Just find any lane (preferably off a main road), that has bramble bushes. Blackberries tend to be ripest mid September and they’re usually gone by mid October. Evie loves getting involved with this! After we’ve collected the blackberries we’ll usually either bake them in a pie, or we’ll make ice-lollies with them or fruity smoothies!

3. Bake muffins or pie

Another of our favourite Autumn activities for kids, is baking! Which kid doesn’t love baking? As soon as the weather turns colder, we love baking warm, delicious Autumn inspired cakes. Some of our favourite Autumn bakes include blackberry crumbles, apple and cinnamon muffins and apple cake. Find our delicious recipe for blackberry crumble below.

4. Fall Playdough

If you’re looking for some fun, messy play Autumn activities for kids then this fall scented playdough is for you! Your kids can get involved with homemaking the playdough from scratch. They can help to choose the colours and help to add the Autumn inspired scents. We love making cinammon scented playdough, nutmeg scented, cloves and ginger. When its cooked, they can keep it for a few weeks and use it anytime to make some fun playdough creations. Find our recipe for homemade Autumn scented playdough below.

5. Scavenger Hunt

If you love being outdoors in Autumn, then definitely download our free Autumn scavenger hunt printable. You’ll find it attached to the link below. Every Autumn we love going to the woods and sending Evie on a ‘scavenger hunt’ to find certain things that relate to Autumn! This is such an easy way to make a walk so much more interesting for both younger and older kids.

You’ve got some great ideas there. I love the autumn crown idea and autumn scented play dough. It’s a shame we don’t get a proper autumn where we are to collect leaves for the crown.

Loads of fab ideas Chloe! The scented play dough sounds brilliant. How clever to think of adding a scent to it. I really wish we had brambles near to us for blackberry picking. It looks so much fun and I bet they make wonderful treats. x
