Beat Bugs has arrived on Netflix!
If you are a fan of The Beatles, then “Beat Bugs”, the latest kids show to arrive on Netflix, is a must see.
Readers of Life Unexpected would have heard the news last week that we are now part of the Netflix #StreamTeam.
Netflix set us a rather (embarrassing) fun challenge this week, where we had to showcase our families best cover of the new “Beat Bugs” theme song ‘All You Need Is Love‘ on YouTube. So if you want a giggle, keep reading and watch below.
What is Beat Bugs?
Beat Bugs follows the lives of five best friends – Crick, Jay, Buzz, Kumi and Walter, as they live out their childhood adventures in an overgrown suburban backyard.
The show, created by Josh Wakely, tells uplifting and life-affirming stories, filled with hope and melody.
Each half-hour episode follows the five best friends as they band together, exploring and learning about their universe. Each episode features a different song by The Beatles. The song acts as a basis for the adventures of the young bugs.
In total, the show incorporates more than 50 songs from the Lennon/McCartney ‘Northern Songs’ catalogue, all of which are covered by famous artists.
The first season alone features covers by Pink, James Corden, Aloe Blacc, Robbie Williams, Eddie Veder, Frances, The Shins, The Lumineers and Sia.
Season 2 premieres on 18th November 2016 and features artists such as Rod Stewart, Jennifer Hudson, James Bay and Of Monsters And Men.
Have a watch of the official trailer and let me know what you think!
I have a feeling that Beat Bugs will be the number one choice for “family viewing” this autumn. The fun animation is perfect for the younger generation and the classic Beatles songs will captivate the older. What better excuse to watch our kids favourite show than to have a good sing song?
You can watch our families rendition of ‘All You Need Is Love’ here. Unfortunately I was too shy to sing so I have completely embarrassed my mum on YouTube.
What do you think of the new Beat Bugs show? Will you be watching? Let us know in the comments below.
