BIRTHDAYS, BEASTS AND BREAKING POINT #LITTELOVES

BIRTHDAYS, BEASTS AND BREAKING POINT #LITTELOVES

Welcome back to another week of #LittleLoves! I can’t believe that it’s Friday already. This week has flown by and has also been that little bit extra special because today is Evie’s 3rd birthday.

I can’t believe she’s three! Time is so fleeting, I just want to wrap her up and keep her this age for a little bit longer. Regardless of birthdays, our house and routine is finally just about back to normal this week, hooray! I’ve got some new little things for my office and I’m really feeling like I’m back to work and on top of things.

Here’s what I’ve been loving this week:

Read…

What To Do When You Hit Breaking Point – by A Mum Track Mind. I really needed to read this article this week. I’ve been feeling at breaking point a lot lately (yes, even though I’ve had a holiday). Trying to juggle childcare and working two jobs has not been easy.

If you’re at breaking point or feeling overwhelmed then there are some great tips in her post that might help you too. The first point I’m going to be actively trying out is switching off technology!

Watched…

Beauty and The Beast – I am obsessed with Beauty and The Beast. It’s my favourite Disney film of all time and I was so excited to finally see the new version this week..

I actually may have cried a teensy bit at the end of the film! It was incredible. I loved everything about it. The sets, the dresses, the whole look of the film and even the new additional scenes. Belle is my favourite ever leading lady in a film. I love how headstrong she is and that she’s not the typical damsel in distress.

Heard…

Band Of Horses on Spotify. I love Band Of Horses. I try and listen to them before I go to bed because there is something about their music that really relaxes me. I’ve been listening to their album ‘Cease To Begin’ a lot recently, after a good 5 years of not hearing it.

I’ve just checked out their newer albums too and recognise so many of the songs from popular films. Definitely a band to have on for easy listening, background music.

Made…

…over my office a little bit more? I don’t know if that’s cheating a little bit. 🙂

My office was supposed to be finished by now but my holiday to Cape Town drained my funds a little bit more than I thought it would. My office has had to take a bit of a backseat but should be finished in the next month. I still need to get a new desk, a chair, some more plants and a shelf unit.

But, I did pick up a couple of really cute accessories from New Look. I love this mini concrete plant pot and this inspiration board is just what I’ve been looking for. I’m going to change up the pictures this week but, I’m so happy with how its already made a difference to my plain walls. How amazing is New Look for homeware accessories?

Wore…

The lovely online store ‘All By Mama‘, sent me a little package for Mothers Day this week. Inside was this cute little bracelet. The idea behind it is that you make a wish, put it on and when it snaps your wish is supposed to exist.

I love the idea behind this bracelet and the mini heart on it is so sweet. I think it makes the perfect little gift for mamas everywhere.

And Lastly…

My daughter is 3!!!! Even though I love watching her grow, I am so sad about this. The baby years are really behind us now and they disappeared quicker than I would have liked. Evie got out of bed this morning and the first thing she said was: ‘I’m never going to be 2 and a half again Mummy’. I had to choke back the tears.

We had such a lovely day though. We started off with breakfast on the beach then took her to the island in St. Ives for our yearly balloon photo. The rest of the day was packed full of seeing people and present opening. She’s gone to bed full of cake and very spoilt. I am excited to have a three year old but I do really hope that the next year goes a lot slower than the last.

The wishing string is a nice idea.
I’m yet to see Beauty and the Beast, but perhaps I will watch the Disney animation with the children first. Don’t think I’ve watched it in like 20 years!
Happy birthday to your daughter. Time flies!

They do grow up so fast. My eldest will be 4 next month. I’m not at breaking point but I’m off to read the blog post you mentioned. I start back at work in June and I’d like to prevent ending up at breaking point!
