I feel so lucky and incredibly grateful to be a blogger. I’ve been blogging for almost two years now and yet the world of blogging still never fails to astound me.

Everyday, the opportunities that other bloggers get and now even myself, is sometimes so hard to believe. Yes, it is hard work don’t get me wrong. It is the hardest job I have ever had. I even wrote about it this year in my post ‘So, You Want To Be A Blogger?‘. The hours are long, the to list is endless, but I can honestly say, it is my favourite thing to do in the world.

How crazy fast has this last year gone? It doesn’t seem like yesterday that I was writing my 2016 blogging goals. Yet so much has happened this year, both in my personal life and in my blogging life; good and bad. But, now it’s time to reflect, move on and plan for the new year of 2017.

I knew that 2015 would always be such a hard year to top. It was the year that I started blogging and in that year I launched a linky, made a community of friends, was sent on two mini staycations with my blog and I even won a parenting blogging award!

To think that 2016 has been even more incredible, just blows me away. Although in 2016 I didn’t achieve all 10 of my blogging goals, I still managed to get six of them and also so many more unexpected things came my way. These were my 2016 goals:

2016 Goals

1. To attend a blogging conference and meet my blogging friends. Brit Mums Live here I come!
2. To travel with my blog.
3. To start an Instagram hashtag community.
4. To make a regular income from my blog.
5. To get the opportunity to work with some amazing brands that I love.
6. To write and publish an e-book.
7. To create and sell products.
8. To be a brand ambassador again.
9. To be featured on a big website.
10. To start a guest series.

Out of all the goals, I didn’t achieve, I was really gutted that I couldn’t attend Brit Mums the most. But next year is definitely the year of blogging conferences for me. I’m excited to meet so many other bloggers and have already got my ticket to Brit Mums, as well as babysitters ready for a couple of others!

Out of the goals I did achieve, I am most amazed that I got to travel with my blog this year. I reviewed several staycations including Bluestone, where I’ve wanted to visit for so long and I even got to blog from abroad on our month long trip to Europe.

Another one of the goals I’m proud to have achieved, is starting an Instagram community. I started a hashtag called #curiouslittleexporers and I had no idea if it would take off. But, over 25,000 images have already been linked up to it, which is absolutely crazy. I can’t thank my co-host Alice from New Young Mum enough for helping me with this.

I’m also so grateful that I got to work with an endless amount of brands I love, both household and independent. I actually had to pinch myself several times when I became a brand ambassador for both Huggies and Netflix and could strike goal number 8 off my list.

Lastly, I was so beyond proud of the guest series that I started. The series was all about interviewing ‘Mumpreneurs‘, to find out how they balance their business’ and babies. Each and every one of those women are a complete inspiration and I’m so chuffed that I got to showcase them and their work to all of you. They have been my motivation to reach my own goals and have really showed me that us mums, can do whatever we put our minds to.

Blogging Goals 2017

2017 Goals

1. Youtube, youtube, youtube – grow my channel and do lots of short ‘how to’ films.
2. Find some blogging besties!
3. Attend a blog conference
4. Become a brand ambassador again
5. Get featured in a magazine or print publication
6. To focus more on the travel section of Life Unexpected and be sent abroad
7. To create and publish an e-book
8. To collaborate with another blogger on something big!
9. To make a consistent income from my blog
10. To invest in some new photography equipment including a tripod, a GoPro and a Drone!

For me 2017 will be all about refocusing. I want to really grow my youtube channel, my community, as well as focus on making friends.

For youtube I have huge, huge plans and can’t wait to invest in a tripod so that I can do a lot more videos, without my lovely partner having to hold the camera all the time.

In terms of blogging friends, living in Cornwall and doing this job can sometimes be a bit isolating. People down here are still hearing about blogging for the first time and don’t really understand it. There is something so lovely about having fellow blogging friends. They completely understand you and motivate you in so many ways.

Another goal is to travel more with my blog. After travelling around Europe for a month with my little girl, I have officially caught the travel blog. I really want to share more with my readers about the possibilities of travel, even after you’ve had children. I’m hoping to invest in some new photography equipment so that we can share our travels with you in the most beautiful way. Cape Town in South Africa will be the first place we visit.

I’m in the process of writing down my blogging goals. This year has been huge for me with the birth of my baby girl and really getting my blog out there. You are right than being down here in Cornwall is a little isolating and we are so far away from blog events. But we are so lucky to live in such an amazing place.

Good luck with your 2017 goals. Xx
