COLOUR AND LEARN WORLD MAP PILLOWCASE + GIVEAWAY

This week we’ve had the opportunity to try out a ‘Colour and Learn World Map Pillowcase’. It was sent to use by an amazing gift company called ‘BNifty‘. If you have a kid who loves travel, or if you want to teach them more about the world through play, then this is so perfect for you.

BNifty have also kindly given us a Colour and Learn world map pillowcase to giveaway to one of you lucky readers. You can enter our giveaway at the end of this post. But first, we’re going to tell you all about it and why we love it so much!

Colour And Learn World Map Pillowcase

If you are regular readers of Life unexpected then you will know that our family are travel mad. We are on a mission to see as much of the world as possible and our daughter has been so lucky to get to see quite a few places already. The only thing is, being so young, she’s not been able to put our travels into any kind of context yet. She knows where she has been, but she hasn’t quite got a grip on what the ‘world’ is.

Colour And Learn World Map Pillowcase

The pillow case has not only been fun for Evie to completely scribble all over, but it’s also given us such a huge opportunity to teach Evie more about the places she’s travelled to and where she can find them in the world.

Colour And Learn World Map Pillowcase

The ‘Colour and Learn World Map Pillowcase’ is  100% cotton. The pillowcase features a beautiful hand-drawn world map illustration on one side. Apparently it was hand commissioned just for these designs.

Colour And Learn World Map Pillowcase

As well as an outline of the world, the illustration is packed full of fun facts, famous landmarks, wild animals (that are positioned in the countries you would find them) and exotic sea creatures. Evie was so excited when we opened it up and couldn’t believe she was actually allowed to colour in her new bedding.

Doodle Pens

The colour and learn world map pillowcase also comes with ‘doodle pens’. The pens are actually wash-out fabric pens, which is great if your kids are anything like mine. You don’t need to worry about your kids accidentally drawing on their clothes, or other fabrics, because the pen comes out very easily. Evie somehow ended up with pen on her clothes, her hands and her face. How does she get so messy all the time?

Colour And Learn World Map Pillowcase

The fabric pens are also double-ended. One side is fatter for general colouring and the other end is a fine tip for adding more details. The pens come in a whole rainbow of colours, so you can make the map as vibrant and colourful as you like.

As the fabric pens are washable, the pillowcase is completely re-usable. Just one quick wash on a warm cycle and the doodles/colouring completely disappears so your kids start all over again.

Learning About The World

Already we have been able to teach Evie so much more about the world using just this pillowcase. For a while now I’ve really wanted to get Evie a map for her wall, or one of those light up globes, so we can teach her about different countries and show her more about the world we live in. But, this is completely perfect and I love that the added illustrations can guide your teaching.

Yesterday I pulled out pictures of some of our holidays, particularly to Africa and Italy and I pointed out some of the landmarks and animals that we saw, showed her the pictures of her next to them and then referred to them on the map. This really helped Evie to get a grasp on the world and she could start to picture where we had previously travelled to. She also started pointing out places she wants to go to, so she can see certain animals and landmarks.

Colour And Learn World Map Pillowcase

These pillowcases are hugely fun and entertaining. They are so perfect for:

  • Imaginative and creative play
  • Geography Homework
  • Learning About The World
  • Learning to Colour In Neatly
  • Travel Mad Kids

BNifty Gifts

There are lots of other unique gifts on the BNifty website, including more ‘colour-in’ products like this one. I have officially found my favourite ‘gift’ website and I know where I will be going from now on, every time I need to buy a birthday or Christmas present. They do gifts for kids and grown ups too and have some really cool things available.

Colour And Learn World Map Pillowcase

One of my favourite things, that I really want for our home office space, is this Cross Stitch World Map. You can personalise it and completely make it your own. I also love that you can add to it over time.

Colour And Learn World Map Pillow Case

I also love this Unicorn travel pillow. We are 100% buying this for our next trip with Evie. How cute is this? She is unicorn mad too, so it’s perfect.

Colour And Learn World Map Pillow Case

Another of my favourites is this chalkboard wall sticker. I’d love one of these for both Evie’s room, so she can doodle away, and our kitchen so we can write shopping lists and appointments on it.

Colour And Learn World Map Pillow Case

These are just a few amazing things you can get via the ‘BNifty’ website. Definitely going and check it out for more unique gift ideas.
