Disney Princess Magical Movers Rapunzel Review:
Hands up who else has a ‘Disney’ mad child in their house? Evie has suddenly become so obsessed with Disney and especially Disney Princesses. All she wanted for Christmas and for her birthday was anything Disney Princess. She is obsessed with the films, the princess dresses, the songs! Oh boy the songs. She sings Disney songs all day long, especially all the ones from Frozen.
We are part of the ‘Hasbro Toy Tribe‘ so when I saw that they have a new ‘Disney Princess’ toy collection out, called the ‘Disney Princess Magical Movers’, I just had to try one out with Evie.
We were posted out a Disney Princess Magical Movers Rapunzel to review. Evie literally squealed with excitement when I let her open the parcel and she saw what was inside.
The Magical Movers Rapunzel comes with a little Rapunzel figurine and a platform/base for her to stand on. There are no batteries needed for this set. To charge your doll and make her twirl, you simply pull the long cord. Then you lift her off the base and put her on a hard surface. She will twirl and twirl, round and round, until she falls down and you start all over again.
Evie absolutely loved the film Tangled. Mostly because she has wanted long hair for a very long time! But, her hair just doesn’t seem to be growing. She has just turned four this month and finally her hair has started to curl and get longer. We had quite a lot of issues with young kids commenting on Evie’s hair before, telling her she looked like a boy. So, she was delighted when she watched Tangled and at the very end of the film Rapunzel gets a short brunette crop, just like her.
She has fallen very much in love with this doll. As well as twirling her, she has been acting out moments from the Disney’s Tangled film. Her magical little mover has also played a lot with her other Disney Princess dolls too. I really love watching Evie’s imagination bloom and it’s so cute seeing some of the magical and fun scenarios she creates.
There are lots of other ‘Magical Movers’ dolls and play sets to collect. Each are sold separately but all of the dolls can be interchanged and can share bases. The Rapunzel set we received was one of the basic ones you can buy, where the doll simply twirls and twirls. So far you can collect Rapunzel and Ariel in this range.
There are also medium sized play sets too. These come with more items and the dolls can make some of these items move. For example Jasmine comes with a magic carpet, which she can make move and also a small house where she can make different parts of it move. You can also get Cinderella who rides her horse and can twirl her mouse friend.
Lastly there are also larger sets again, which come with yet more items and can fit more than one doll. The only one we’ve seen like this so far is Belle. Belle comes with a small castle, which has a dance floor for her to twirl on. It also has a balcony area where she can make some of the ‘household objects’ move. Medium and large sets are priced between £16 and £23. Whereas the Disney Princess Magical Movers Rapunzul retails at £7.99.
These play sets are designed for 4 years +, but I do have to admit, they are quite tricky for a four year old to use at first. They have to take the doll off the platform and try and balance it so it spins, while it is moving. Rapunzel fell over quite a lot, before Evie got the gist of it. But, it has been great for getting her to practise her hand/eye co-ordination, and for teaching her to generally be a lot gentler with her toys.
If you wanted to get a Disney Princess Magical Movers Rapunzel for your little ones, they can be found at most toy stores, including ‘Smyths’ and ‘Amazon‘.
What do you thing of the Magical Movers sets? Would your kids love one of these? Let me know in the comments below.
