The weather is getting warmer and party and wedding season is on the way! The invitations are flying through the door and the only thing we’re wondering is…what are we going to wear?
One thing I adore about being a mum to a little girl is getting to choose beautiful dresses. One of my favourite shops to buy them from is Jojo Maman Bebe. I’m sure you’ve heard of Jojo Maman Bebe. They make the most adorable British and French inspired childrens clothes. I always love the vibrant colours and bold patterns that are splattered across most of the garments they sell.
If you’ve ever visited one of their stores, you’ll know just how parent and child friendly the company are. The shops are fabulous! There are always toys to play with, areas to sit and all the staff are so friendly. Quite often you also come away with a bright Jojo Maman Bebe balloon, which always goes down such a treat with my little girl.
Dressing Up For Special Occasions With Jojo Maman Bebe
Jojo Maman Bebe recently got in touch and asked us to test out some of their occasion wear. With wedding season coming up and one of my best friends getting married in the next few weeks we couldn’t resist having a peek at their lookbook to try and find Evie the perfect dress. (You can check out their occasion wear lookbook here!)
When I saw the options I instantly fell in love with this ‘Pink Tulle party dress‘. Isn’t it gorgeous? The dusty peachy pink colour is so pretty and the embroidered flower details give it such a sweet twist.
Evie looks gorgeous. We’ve had so many compliments on this dress already. Just from wearing it out to snap some pictures, we had at least three people ask us where it is from.
I love everything about the dress; from the fit, to the colour, to the detailing. Evie’s favourite thing about this dress is the netted underskirt. It makes the dress poof out a little more, which has fully satisfied her need to twirl around every time she puts on a dress.
The Pink Tulle Party Dress…
This dress is pretty perfect for both parties and weddings. The peachy pink tone is such a fitting colour for the summer season. I even think this dress would also make a great bridesmaid dress as well as party dress.
I really adore the 3D flower detail on the hem. The flowers are really secure, which is great when you have a fiddly toddler on your hands, and the little embroidery leaves are so sweet.
The sequin tulle gives it a little bit of sparkle and shimmer when it moves and I really love how it gathers at the waist with a soft contrast waistband going all around the middle. The quality of this dress is amazing. It feels really strong and the buttons at the back make it so secure at the same time as giving it yet another lovely detail.
The best thing about this dress for me? Machine washable! Isn’t it so nice when you don’t have to cart clothes to a dry cleaner or you don’t have to worry about your toddler doing what they do best and making clothes messy? The dress is 100% cotton and it’s perfectly safe to wash it at 30 degrees in your machine.
Pretty Leather Sandals
The one thing we really needed to go with the dress was a beautiful pair of shoes. How adorable are these ‘pretty leather sandals’? We really wanted to get a pair in white, but they are also available in blue and silver. I really love how versatile these shoes are and how much they just go with absolutely everything in Evie’s wardrobe.
They’re casual enough to be worn everyday, even with kids jeans, but they also look smart enough to be paired with party dresses. These shoes are the ultimate wardrobe staple for this summer. The soles are cushioned so they’re super comfortable for growing feet and they haven’t rubbed Evie at all, even if she has when wearing them out and about all day.
They shoes are made from leather so they’re really durable and they have an anti-slip rubber sole which is great if your toddler is anything like mine and spends most of their time running about. I absolutely adore the pretty cut out details all around the edge. They’re so dainty and sweet.
But, my favourite thing about the shoes are the velcro straps. Evie has wide feet and we actually struggle so much to find her sandals that fit well. I wish all brands did straps like this! They’re completely adjustable to your childs foot which is amazing if you are a parent of a wide footed or skinny footed child like me!
Another great (or sometimes not great thing if your child like to take their shoes off in the car like mine) thing about velcro straps is that Evie can practice putting shoes on and taking them off all by herself. Retailing at £18, I think these sandals are such great value, especially as they are amazing quality leather shoes.
