Welcome back to another week of #LittleLoves! I can’t believe how fast each week is going lately, but I love joining in with the #LittleLoves linky every week and sharing with you all the things that I’ve been loving.
It’s been a super busy week for us and I’m trying to make some big changes to my lifestyle in terms of work balance, making sure I’m healthy and trying to be more hands on with Evie.
I’ve been so miserable for the last few months and have fallen into a place that I never wanted to be in. This week and this month is all about trying to be actively conscious of my mood, my health, how much I work and of making sure that myself and my family are all happy. At the end of the day, happiness is the most important thing. This weeks #LittleLoves is very much inspired by my new changes.
Here’s what I’ve been loving this week:
Healthy Eating – I found this book in Lidls for the bargain price of £1.99 and it is actually amazing. I am a big clean, healthy eater anyway but I am in a rut of making the same things all the time. The recipes in this book are so easy to follow and I love how many new things I’ve been inspired to make since picking it up!
Evie has been reading and obsessing over Spring books this week. I’ve always told her that her birthday is in Spring and now she’s at that age where she’s asking 100’s of questions including why Spring is Spring.
These books have been great! Now every time it rains she gets so excited and happily announces to anyone who will listen that the flowers are having a drink and are going to grow soon.
Mothers Day – This is now on Netflix and it is amazing! I’ve never watched it before but it’s a proper feel good film with a huge cast. It really explores relationships between Mother’s and how different situations are for everybody.
I’ve been watching loads of Netflix lately. If you need some ‘showspiration’, I’d love you to check out my ‘Netflix In Bed‘ post for some more ideas of what to watch.
Summer Party on Spotify. This is so, so, so unlike me! I am into heavy/alternative rock music and the occasional cheesy pop. But, I have been really loving summer party music at the moment! Especially when I’m in the house pottering about on a really sunny day (yay we’ve actually had some this week) or driving about in my car.
There are some songs on this playlist that really get you in the mood for summer and I’ve discovered so many new artists that I love! It’s a real feel good playlist.
Easter crafts – A year of so ago, I made some Easter crafts with Evie and posted them on Life Unexpected (you can find them here: 3 Easy Toddler Easter Crafts !). She’s been asking about Easter a lot this week and what it is, because she has been making things at nursery. So, I thought it would be a fun idea to make some new Easter crafts and tell her all about what happens at this time of year.
These were so much fun to make and I have a tutorial post going up this week. I’m so surprised at how neat and tidy they ended up, especially as Evie is only 3! But she helped me with every step; from the gluing, to the painting, to the face drawing. I love how engrossed in activities she now gets. She’s patient, attentive and really listens and follows instructions. I’m really enjoying her being this age!
Gym gear – I have been semi-living in gym gear this week. I’m on a re-ignited fitness craze and crazily have been going to the gym for 7am in the morning.
I feel amazing for it though and hope that I can keep it up. I’ve been feeling so down and lethargic lately but just from working out a few days a week, my energy levels and general motivation has started to soar!
My partners dreams of getting a restaurant might finally be happening. His family are putting in an offer this week and if its accepted it will be life changing. Not just because his dream will be coming true, but because it means he’ll have to move back to South Africa.
Cue a complicated transatlantic relationship for us. I did fall in love with Cape Town when I recently went there on holiday, so I can’t wait to go over to join him for a few short breaks once or twice a year. But moving there may not be an option as I have Evie and a life her for her here. Complicated!
One thing this whole situation has taught me, is that you should always follow your dreams. Even if it means shaking up relationships or moving across the world! The rest of your life, the complicated stuff in between, will learn to adapt.
It has also motivated me to continue working hard and pursuing my own dreams. I think this year I’ll be working harder than ever. Mostly for myself but also to fill the void when Aitan is on the other side of the world.
