It’s been such a long time since I’ve joined in with #LittleLoves. I’ve been so, so busy and caught up with all my other work that my blog has had to take a HUGE backseat until now.
There is something about this lovely linky that really encourages me to read, be creative and to broaden what I watch and listen to. I love getting inspiration from everyone else who links up and really enjoy sharing what little loves have been my favourite this week.
Game Of Thrones, Making Videos And Choc On Choc
This week for me, has been all about getting creative, falling in love with old favourite shows and eating delicious, uniquely designed chocolate. This week I have:
You Can’t Have It All: Being A Working Mum – Toby & Roo – Hooray! There is finally an honest post about the struggle of being a parent who works AND tries to juggle absolutely everything. I love Harriet from the blog Toby & Roo. Her honest posts about parenting are always a must read and this one really hit home with me this week. She’s calling ‘bullshit’ on us being able to have a fabulous career and perfect family life and I’m raising my glass to her on this one. If you’re struggling to balance working, family life and everything else in between, it’s a must read!
Game Of Thrones – It’s back! It’s back! It’s back! And so far it’s gripping. I am really excited to see this season of Game Of Thrones. There was something about the last season that I really didn’t enjoy.
But, the show has finally started to cover some of my favourite chapters, that were in the books, now. I can’t wait to see what they do with some of the characters, particularly Jon Snow and Daenerys. I’m also looking forward to see what happens to Cersei. Will she finally meet her end?
Not Another Mummy Blog – Podcasts – This week I’ve been listening to Not Another Mummy Blogs new series of podcasts. Each week Alison interviews a different blogger on a popular parenting topic. So far she’s covered; ‘making mum friends’, ‘mum style and identity post pregnancy‘ and ‘juggling work and parenthood’. I love putting these podcasts on in the background when I’m cooking or doing chores. It’s like having two friends in the background chatting over a cup of tea. Well worth a listen for any parent!
A Youtube Video – I really want to focus on making Youtube videos this year. I find filming and editing videos so much fun and even though I have a lot to learn until they look super professional, I’m really enjoying practising. This week I made a little Youtube video all about our recent trip to Kynance Cove.
Kynance Cove is such a beautiful area and it’s not too far from my house. For some reason I have never been before, but as you’ll see in the video, I will definitely be returning again and again. I will be doing at least two videos a month from now on. I have a lot to learn about filming; from holding the camera a lot more steadily, to different editing techniques. I can’t wait to start growing my videography skills and my channel.
River Island – The sun has been out and I’ve been wearing my new(ish) ‘River Island‘ clothes a lot. I was so balled over to be sent some beautiful River Island products a couple of months ago. My favourite is this summer beach playsuit.
It’s so perfect to wear on a hot day. I often spend the day running around the beach by my house after my daughter and I rarely wear bikinis because of body hang ups and because I’m always having to dart around after Evie. This cover up is so gorgeous. I love the detailing on it and I really feel like it’s flattering. It actually hides all my stretch marks and wobbly bits! Yay!
Choc On Choc – It’s not often that I’d agree to review foodie bits on Life Unexpected. But this week, Bath based company ‘Choc On Choc‘ posted an opportunity for bloggers to try out some of their chocolates. They make the most creatively designed chocolates I have ever seen. You can buy anything from a chocolate tennis ball, to a chocolate cheese board.
All of the designs are so realistic. I really wanted to do a beach shoot, so they sent me over one of their ice cream chocolates. Oh my it is so delicious. It was so hard for Evie and I not to eat the whole thing before the photoshoot.
The whole thing is layers upon layers of chocolate and inside the ‘ice-cream’ part there are crumbly bits of fudge. The chocolate is so moreish. I’ll be posting a little write up about ‘Choc On Choc’ this week.
