Have you started preparing for Halloween yet?

It’s creeping up fast and before we know it, the trick or treaters will be at the door and our little ones will be asking for costumes.

Although fun, Halloween can be expensive.

When B&M challenged us to get everything we needed for Halloween (costumes for the family and all), with just £50, we jumped at the chance and also thought that would be slightly impossible.

Costumes alone are normally £20 each, then throw in the sweets for the trick or treaters, plus the decorations for the house, and Halloween can work out very expensive.

Halloween With B and M

B&M have everything you need to create a super spooky Halloween on a budget. Including; Halloween costumes, makeup, party decorations, tableware and not forgetting treats. It’s the one stop shop for making your house look scary and your family looking ghoulish.

Halloween Party

Are you throwing a halloween party for your kids? We really loved their themed cups, plates and napkins and from as little as £1, you can get everything you need for the guests attending your spooktastic party.

I really loved the table cloths that they had in store. They feel really high quality and are only about £4. We chose the bat design and know that it’s going to last us for years to come. It can also be doubled up as a cape if you get a bit creative!

They also had novelty cups and goblets, which are perfect it you’re going all out with your party.

Have you seen their really cool, Halloween themed drinks dispensers? We had a choice of a few different ones but we chose the ‘Vampire Blood’ drinks dispenser, as we’re going to fill it with blackcurrant juice for the kids party and red wine for the adults.

Trick Or Treating

We always have to pre-prepare for Halloween and pack a bowl full of sweets to leave by our front door, ready for trick or treaters. We live on a busy road and get inundated all night long, with people knocking the door for sweets. Is it the same at your house?

We’ve prepared ourselves this year with one of the B&M halloween bowls and will be going back to stock up on bags of sweets, nearer to the time.

The bowls are perfect for leaving around the house at parties too and can even be doubled up as punch bowls for your spooky special drinks.

We’re taking Evie trick or treating for the first time this year and really liked the spooky hand-shaped bags they had in store.

The hands are attached to a pole so the children can hold them with ease and can hold them out at arms length, when they ask for sweets at peoples front doors.

Evie loves the orange pumpkin one and has spent the last few days filling it with goods from around the house and carrying them about with her.

I could not get over the value for money on the costumes. How adorable is the Ghost costume for toddlers, below? We just had to buy it for Evie.

We couldn’t get over the wide range of costumes available at B&M. It was so hard to choose just one! From bumblebees, to werewolves, to ghosts, to witches. The whole family can all go as something different, but still look amazing.

Kids costumes start from as little as £4.99 and adults costumes are cheaper than I’ve seen anywhere else. They even have costumes for your pets!

We can’t wait to dress Evie up on Halloween and take her trick or treating for the first time.

B&M Halloween Collection

We have only spent £34 of our £50 budget so far. We could not get over how many bags of shopping we left with at this price.

Our spooktacular halloween filled bags contained:

  • 48 packs of hanging and table decorations
  • Halloween themed paper cups and paper plates
  • Pumpkin string lights
  • LED candles
  • 3 x real candles
  • A trick or treat bowl
  • A ghost costume for Evie
  • Bat table cloth
  • Trick or treat hands x 2
  • Tinsel Pumpkin
  • Vampire blood drinks dispenser

We’re going to use our remaining £16 to get some more spooky window decorations, when our B&M store gets more stock. We can’t get over how much we got for our money so far.

The range of Halloween products at B&M are already selling out fast, so make sure you get down to your local store quickly, so you don’t miss out!

Why not check out our Halloween themed bookshelf or try some of our Halloween themed crafts for kids.

We had a B&M open near us a few months ago and I’m planning on visiting to get some Halloween stuff soon. I had no idea it was so cheap though. Brilliant! That drinks dispenser is so cool x

Interesting article, I chuckled as my partner threw a Halloween party last year, think she spent way more than your budget of £50 or £34 but we have loads of props in boxes for another year. We even had siringes full of red jelly for the kids.

Wow, you got loads and didn’t even spend all the money yet! I’m not sure we’ll do anything this year as Erin isn’t even 1 yet.

I love B&M! I am not going to celebrate Halloween this year as my little one is too small to really understand and help me to decorate but definitely next year!
