Two years old. TWO YEARS OLD! Two years old…
My blog definitely feels so much older than that. Two years old sounds like such a small age, but when you put your heart and your soul into something, it can really feel like you have been doing it for a lifetime.
I’ve just re-read my post ‘Happy 1st Blogiversary‘. I am still as overwhelmed by how incredible blogging is now, as I was then.
Just like last year, as a huge, huge thank you, I’m going to be running some fab giveaways this week, for all of you lovely people. So, keep an eye out for those.
Happy 2nd Blogiversary!
I am so humbled and grateful everyday for the people that stop by and still read this blog and to all the brands that have worked with me.
It’s been both a hard year and an incredible one. You’ve followed me through a separation and through writers block. You’ve also followed me to Europe on my month long travels and seen me launch my freelance career.
When I first started Life Unexpected, I never though that within two years I would be able to give up my job, become a freelancer and also end up blogging full time. I guess that is Life Unexpected for you though.
Never in a million years did I think that I would have the confidence to live out my dreams of being a writer. That I would get over my fear of not being good enough, or at not having the right words and also to stop constantly worrying about what people think.
Miss Unconfident even started a Youtube channel this year, which for me is such a HUGE deal! Check out our channel below:
I Still Need To Pinch Myself…
I’ve had so many moments this year where I’ve jumped around my house quite literally squealing with excitement. One of those was when I got off the phone to Huggies, after being offered a year long contract.
Another when I got offered a six month social media management contract, another was when I got off the phone to Netflix after being asked to be on their #StreamTeam.
But, one of my most inspiring moments, was getting to work with and showcase so many incredible mums on my fabulous blog series; ‘Interview With A Mumpreneur‘. These ladies have given me so much motivation to push even harder for my dreams.
Blogging Has Given Me Confidence
This is by no means me boasting. I am normally the least confident, biggest introvert of all. But I am also so proud. Life Unexpected started off as a creative outlet for me while I was on maternity leave. It was a hobby and a project that I used to help me combat postnatal depression and my feeling of worthlessness and unemployability after having my daughter.
Life Unexpected turned my life around. It has inspired me to help other mums who are also feeling lost and unconfident. It has encouraged me to push myself out of my comfort zone, allowed me to be financially independent at a time when I really needed it and it’s also given me a sense of direction and helped me to find myself again.
Just like last year I have so many people that I would love to thank.
Thank you, to all the brands that I have worked with. Thank you for either approaching me, or for answering the pitches that I was so scared to send.
To all the PR’s who have worked with me and given me opportunities. Some have even started to become friends. It’s so nice to have familiar people pop up in your inbox, that have something a little bit more personal to add to their e-mails.
Thank you to all the bloggers who have shared my posts, boosted me on social media, listened to me in Facebook groups and given advice when I’ve asked for it.
To all the readers who have embraced the changes on Life Unexpected, read my posts and left me some beautiful comments.
To my friends, who despite being fed up that I work more than ever before, still invite me out. Even if they know it means I’m going to be sipping cocktails in a beach bar, with my laptop sat in front of me.
To my family. For yet again helping to look after Evie so I could finish work and for letting me take 1000+ pictures, every time we go for so much as a coffee!
To my partner for learning the backend of my WordPress like a boss. For helping me to write posts when I had writers block. For encouraging me to carry on when I was struggling.
Thank You To My Muse
To my gorgeous, intelligent little girl, who loves to tell everyone her mum is a ‘bugger’ and not a blogger. I hope that my hard work and determination to reach for my dreams, inspires you to do the same.
Thank you Evie, for posing for pictures and for trying on clothes. Thank you for coming with me on holidays and days out. Thanks for generally baring with me when Mummy needs to use her laptop for a minute.
Here is to an even more amazing 3rd year of blogging!
Don’t forget to check out my blogging goals for 2017 so you know what I’m up to!
Meanwhile, just like last year, I’m off to indulge in some cake and a cheeky glass of prosecco to celebrate!
