It’s been such a crazy week in our household. We were supposed to go and review a lovely little cottage this week in Padstow, only for all of us to be struck down one by one with the Norovirus, followed by a really horrible cold.
To say we’ve had many indoor days is an understatement and I don’t do indoor days, even if its raining, so I’ve been a pretty grumpy mama.
There is a linky called #LittleLoves that I’ve been wanting to join in with for a long time now. ‘Coffee Work Sleep Repeat‘ is one of my favourite blogs to read, especially her #LittleLoves series, so I’m really excited to finally be joining in today.
Here’s our #LittleLoves from this week:
If you don’t fancy reading my answers, I’ve also done a little Vlog instead. You can also get a sneak peak of my new office in the Vlog too.
I absolutely love reading and I don’t read enough anymore. I’m definitely thinking that the Dutch have it right with Hygge and I really must start seeing things like taking time out to read, as important.
This week I actually managed to finish a book, one positive thing from being poorly. The book is called Million Dollar Blog and its by Natasha Courtenay-Smith.
It’s a book written for bloggers who want to take their blogs a little more seriously. If you actually want to earn good money from your own blog then this book is a must read. It is brilliant. There are so many pointers you can take from it and it’ll really motivate you to make opportunities for yourself and to find your direction. A must, must read!
Mr. Selfridge. I love binging on Netflix shows before I go to sleep. Its always my little hour to myself before bed. But, I am such a girl and I love watching things like Vampire Diaries, The Originals and Pretty Little Liars. I’ve caught up with all of those shows and for the first time my partner asked if we can ‘share a show’ so we started to watch Mr Selfridge.
I am hooked! I love period shows anyway but this one is amazing. The costumes the ladies wear are beautiful. I’m only a few episodes in and I’m not sure the direction the show is going to go in yet, but I wish I was a bit more like Harry Selfridge in the way he just grabs his dreams without having solid plans in place.
This week the funniest thing I heard was my little girl Evie talking to our cat. He keeps climbing in my car at the moment when I’m loading it and the other day he even ended up sleeping in there for a few hours because I didn’t know he had got in.
But, on one of the days this week when I was loading Evie in the car, he tried to get in and climbed onto the drivers seat. Evie started to laugh and I aked her what was funny. She said;
‘Nini is trying to drive. Doesn’t he know he can’t drive yet Mummy?’
When I asked her why not, because I wanted to check to see if she knew that animals couldn’t drive, she turned around and said
‘Because he’s not 17 yet Mummy!’
That’s toddler logic for you.
Muffins! But I didn’t manage to snap a picture because my hungry family demolished them all within the day! I love making spiced apple muffins and every time it gets cold and rainy, we light the fire and eat some delicious winter inspired cakes. I’ll be sharing the recipe soon, its completely foolproof and they come out big and yummy every single time.
I’ve been wearing my semi-new boots from New Look and my beautiful pink blouse from Topshop, a lot lately. I rarely wear colour in Winter. I am very much a wearer of black, white and grey and so many of my friends have commented on how much just a pop of colour suits me, so I’ve been looking for some more pretty tops this week too. Check out my ‘What Mama Wore‘ series for more inspiration.
My new office space is being made! I am so, so excited to have somewhere I can go to and work. I work from home and I find it so hard to focus sat on my sofa, or in bed, or in a coffee shop. Having this little room has made a huge difference to the way I work already and I’ve had so much fun decorating it.
So far we’ve got a rug and some curtains in and this week one of two floating shelves went up. They are so much more difficult than we thought to put up. If you’ve ever put floating shelves up and managed to get them straight then, my hat goes of to you.
I also got some little pot plants as well. I got some beautiful concrete pots for Christmas from Aitan and I wasn’t sure whether to put candles in them or plants. But I really love the colour injection that they bring to my space. I just can’t wait for it to be finished now and I’ll definitely do a little post on the finished product.
