We are in Cape Town, South Africa! I am so happy to finally be in some heat. It’s 34 degrees and although that sounds painfully hot when you’re used to British weather, its actually not been too bad.
It’s so beautiful here. The mountain backdrops and the open sea, plus some really gorgeous architecture is really making me see why people love Cape Town so much.
I know I’m on holiday, but I really didn’t want to miss out on #LittleLoves, so here are some of the things we’ve been loving this week. Unfortunately there is no vlog this week due to shoddy internet, but here is a picture of where we are before I begin:
The Life Changing Magic Of Not Giving A Fuck. I bought this book at the airport and cannot put it down. One of my best friends has been talking about this book for some time now and I’m so glad I picked it up.
I’m someone who cares way too much about what other people think all the time, but this book is really making me change my mind frame. We all waste so much energy on pleasing others and doing things that don’t bring us joy, but hopefully after this book I’ll have a lot more confidence and more control over what I do with my life.
Dr Strange. I watched this on the plane to Cape Town and although I really enjoyed it, I wasn’t as impressed as I thought I would be.
I have been listening to A Day To Remembers new album a lot lately. I love this band! They are one of my favourite bands and I had the pleasure of working with them many years ago when I worked in the music industry in London.
They never fail to make an album that impresses me. This one is a little more heavier than their last, but I love listening to it when I’m driving.
I’ve not really made anything at all this week. Mostly because we have been travelling. Although I have made progress with work if that counts. I’ve landed some new freelance work and I’m so excited to get started on two new projects that’ll hopefully turn into long term contracts.
Cape Town is a lot hotter than I expected. I’ve been shopping and bought two new playsuits just to help me survive the heat. They are from a shop called Cotton On.
I really wish we had it in the UK. It’s full of beautiful clothes at really reasonable prices. I spent so long in there and could have come away with a lot more. I have a feeling another shopping trip is on the agenda before I leave.
I love Cape Town. We’ve only been here for two days, but it is so beautiful. Yesterday we had lunch in a wine estate and the views were just breathtaking. We have a busy ten days ahead and I can’t wait to make some gorgeous memories.
I can’t get over how open and big everything is here. It makes the UK seem so small. I’m missing my friends and family but I am really enjoying being in the fresh open air.
