I’m 24 weeks pregnant! I have to admit, this last fortnight, since my 22 week update, has gone pretty slowly.

I’m really glad about that though, because we have so much to prepare for. We’re in the middle of my fiance starting his own business, our mortgage application is only just going through and I’ve really got to knuckle down now and work out the logistics of maternity leave as a self-employed person.

If you are self-employed and had to navigate maternity leave, I’d love to hear from you! Right now, it’s not looking like it’s going to be possible for me to take time out? I’m really sad about that but luckily, I am very used to working from home with little feet running around me. I’m hoping I can take at least a few weeks off, but we’ll have to see what happens.

This week baby is the size of a cantaloupe!

How I’m Feeling

Thank you so much to everyone who sent me messages after my 22 week update. In my last update I shared that I had really bad acid reflux and I got so many amazing tips from people. I tried all the advice given to me and the ones that have worked for me are:

  • Avoiding spicy foods (something I was really craving)
  • Avoiding acidic based foots – particularly tomato
  • Getting some gaviscon
  • Eating little and often instead of having large meals

Although acid reflux hasn’t gone completely, its definitely not as bad as it was. Other than that, I’ve had such an influx of energy these last two weeks and I am loving that! I am going out for lots of brisk walks and I’m finding myself really focused at work. I am definitely making the most of this trimester and all this energy!

Pregnancy 24 Week Bump Watch

Body Changes

I have suddenly bloomed. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that my bump has finally started growing a little bit, but I swear I just woke up one morning and was suddenly very pregnant. In my last pregnancy, I was so teeny in my bump that I didn’t need to buy ANY maternity clothes. How lucky is that?

It’s definitely not the same this time around. I’m actually going to have to go shopping this week, because my bump has got so big that all my dresses have become too short to get away with. Right now I’m literally living in one dress and one pair of maternity jeans! Eeek! Where did baby suddenly come from?

If anyone has any recommendations of places to shop for maternity clothes that actually look nice, I am all ears. Please recommend away.

So, that’s it for this weeks update. If anyone else is pregnant, let me know below. I’d love to follow your journey too!

Do you have any recommendations of websites that sell maternity wear? Do you have any tips for taking maternity leave when you’re self employed? Let me know below!

Fantastic you have some energy, but a shame you will need to work so much. I can understand the pressure and I am not sure I could have done this blogging thing with small people. My youngest 2 were 4 when I started so a lot different. I hope you work something out

You look amazing Chloe! I think maternity clothes can be a little bit hit or miss, but as a staple H&M and Mothercare do some lovely comfortable tops. Fingers crossed you are able to get a bit of maternity leave down time. xx

You look fab. I saw a pic of you recently and thought you’d bloomed all of a sudden. Such a cute bump. I used to drink gaviscon by the bottle lol

You are positive;y glowing! For maternity wear I got a few staples from H&M & Next, tbf towards the end stage I just wanted something comfortable. You also dont want to buy too much because you’re not going to need it for that long as your body keeps changing!

Oh look at you! You look fantastic, I remember those heartburn days well though – although it definitely felt more like throat and chest burn too haha.
