This week has been so lovely. I’ve really taken a step back from my other job this week so I could spend some serious quality time with my family and also so I could start throwing everything I have back into Life Unexpected. I took a six week break from blogging and now I’m back online I’m finding it really hard to switch off and shut down my laptop. There have been many nights I’ve stayed up typing till 2am and then woken up again super early to carry on. I forgot just how much I love this little blog and how excited and fulfilled it makes me feel.
Taking a step back from my other job also means a lot more time to enjoy Evie and Aitan. We’ve had lots of ‘treats’ this week from lunches out, to beach days, to fun little moments at home just enjoying each others company. Its a week I really didn’t want to end.
50 Secrets Of Self Confidence – Regular readers of Life Unexpected will know that I am not the most confident person in the world. 2017 for me is all about trying to actually embrace the person I am and trying to get over my shyness and lack of confidence.
I really want to learn to love and accept the skin I am in and also who I am as a person. I know it is yet another self-help book (I think this section is becoming jam packed with those), but I’m really loving this book for helping me feel more confident and for helping me to see things in a different perspective.
Paw Patrol – This week I have watched a lot of Paw Patrol. Not something I would normally ever do!
But, Evie and I made a Paw Patrol inspired ‘Pupperoni’ Pizza as part of a Netflix challenge (see more below) so one day this week we got to snuggle up and enjoy a few episodes together.
Sunset vibes – Every time the sun is out I get the urge to listen to music like this. The windows are open, a fresh breeze is blowing through and I’m either pottering about the house or getting some work done.
It’s the perfect background soundtrack to those summer days when you’re getting things done or just relaxing in the garden.
Pizza! – Inspired by ‘National Pizza Party Day’, Netflix challenged us #streamteamers to make a pizza that would pair perfectly with our favourite Netflix family movie or show.
Being absolutely obsessed with Paw Patrol, we couldn’t resist making a ‘pupperoni’ pizza. It was such a lovely mummy/daughter date with Evie. It was such a giggle trying to make the pizzas without making too much of a mess and despite not looking ‘pinterest’ worthy, they were absolutely delicious!
River Island – River Island recently asked me to review a few items from their new summer range. I think this was one of those jump around the room and squeal moments because I absolutely adore this shop!
I got to try out a gorgeous new handbag, a playsuit cover-up for summer beach days, a slinky bodycon dress and also a very risky piece for me…some little denim shorts.
I absolutely loathe my legs and I am the last person you would expect to wear festival inspired shorts, but I thought I’d give them a whirl so do check out my review to see if they were a yay or a nay!
I have a new car! – It’s a couple of weeks old now but I am so in love with it. We bought one of the new Renault Clio’s and I cannot harp on enough to people about how perfect it is as a family car. It’s an eco car and so far it has been a-m-azing on petrol. Despite already being covered in seagull poop, I absolutely adore how it looks. Its got a slick black exterior and the lights on the front are so cute. The best part for me is the boot space. I’ve just gone from driving a mini, so having enough space to actually fit food shopping in is so lovely. I’m excited for this car to be a part of our family for a few years. I already know we’re going to go on so many adventures with it and make so many memories on little road trips away. Expect some car spam soon.
