Hello September, how are you here so quickly?
Time just seems to go too fast doesn’t it?? August was over in such a whirlwind, but for me it was such a beautiful month for so many reasons. I’m actually really sad to see the back of it. August is my birthday month so it’s always a little bit special. But, this month was made all the more special by one huge unexpected surprise…we got engaged! Eeek!
We spent the first part of the month making the most of the gorgeous weather with Evie. We had way to many beach days, yet another trip to our local adventure park and we ate more ice creams than I’d like to count.
The end of the month was even more adventurous. Aitan took me on a childfree whirlwind holiday to Venice, where he ended up popping the question…on the most beautiful gondola ride! I had no idea that he’d planned it all for a while. I have to say, I’m now in a little bubble of happiness that I hope stays around for a long, long time.
A Few Of Our Favourite Scenes
I managed to get lots of footage of our months adventures and just like last month I’ve put them together in a short video for the new linky I am in love with called ‘Snapshots & Scenes’.
A Few Of Our Favourite Snapshots
I’ve captured so many beautiful moments this month, it was so hard to only share a few.
This first photo is from my new monthly series called ‘Her & Me‘. and is probably my favourite ever photo of Evie and I.
Look closely at the ice-cream in this second photo. It is in fact chocolate just in the shape of ice-cream! How clever is that? It was sent to us by a delicious chocolate maker called ‘Choc On Choc’. You can find more about it in the ‘Little Loves‘ post I shared last week.
I absolutely adore this third photo of my hometown, St. Ives. Believe me, on a rainy day it does look so crappy here. But on a sunny day like above, you really do have to pinch yourselves sometimes and check that you didn’t hop on a plane to somewhere more exotic. If you’re ever coming to St. Ives, do check out my post on how to spend 24 hours here!
‘Paradise Park’ is just around the corner from our house. It’s a bird sanctuary plus farm plus funpark and has huge indoor and outdoor zones. It’s Evie’s favourite place in the world at the moment.
We have a season pass so get to come regularly and I have to say…these play slides have made her fearless. She does all of them, but the ‘Big Red’, by herself.
I managed to capture so many beautiful photos of Venice, it was so hard not to share them all. I will have a little blog post of our time there coming up soon. If you can’t wait though check out my post from last year when I got to spend ‘24 Hours In Venice‘ with Evie.
Unfortunately my camera got dust on it and the majority of my pictures from Venice, and especially of our day trip to the most vibrant and colourful ‘Burano’, are blurry like this one below. Now I know there must be some amazing technical person that knows how to fix this in an editing suite.
If any of you do know how to ‘fix the blur’ please, please, please let me know in the comments below and hopefully I can save most of my photos.
‘Snapshots & Scenes’ is the brain child of a few of my favourite bloggers. The idea behind it is that you make a short video of your best memories from the month, using the pictures and videos that would never normally see the light of day. This is a linky I’m going to be joining in with every month. I think it’s such a lovely way to look back and see what you’ve done with your whole year. If you want to join in with ‘Snapshots & Scenes’ too, make sure you visit one of the hosts Kerri-Ann, Hayley, Jenny, Amber, Sara-Jayne, Maria, Mel & Chloe.
What do you think of our months adventures? What have you been up to for the summer holidays? Let me know in the comments below!
