Happy Friday! How are we nearly at the end of January already? This month feels like it’s both gone really fast and also that it’s lasted forever, all at the same time. It’s also been a month since Christmas which is really crazy.
We’ve had a very strange week. My beautiful fiancee has gone away for the week to start his new job and our house is very quiet without him. I’m missing him so much, but have had the opportunity to focus more on work and Evie. Although one thing that I have discovered, is that I struggle to sleep without him. The bags under my eyes at the moment are huge and coffee has been my absolute bestest friend this week.
Some highlights of this week have been lots of beach walks and bike rides with Evie who has just got her first big girls bike. We did have an absolutely hilarious moment on the beach this week too, when a rogue wave caught us off guard as we were stomping in the shallows with our wellies. The wave completely filled up Evie’s boots and she got so soaked. I have a video of her ‘here‘ trying to walk off the beach. If you want a giggle, I recommend a little watch of this. She is hilarious!
THE POWER, DISNEY AND SOME VALENTINES GIVEAWAYS #LittleLoves
This week has been all about finding Valentines gifts, falling in love with new books, carrying on with our home decor improvements and watching a lot of Disney films..
The Power –
Last week I finally finished the ‘Night Circus‘ and now I’m just starting out on ‘The Power’. I have to say, I really cannot recommend The Night Circus enough to everyone. It was the most unique, but wonderful book I have ever read.
I’ve started ‘The Power’ and I’m only a few chapters in but I have to admit, I really don’t like it so far. I’m struggling to get into it, but I’ve heard from so many people that it’s really good, so I’m going to persist and keep going. If you have read this book, please let me know below if it gets better!
So Much Disney –
A few weeks ago I caved and purchased Disney Life. It’s a monthly subscription (a bit like Netflix) but it gives you access to every single Disney film and TV show (apart from any major movies released in the last year). We’ve been slowly making our way through all the Disney Princess films with Evie, because she is absolutely obsessed with them.
So far in the last two months we have watched; Frozen, Beauty And The Beast, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Brave and Aladdin. Evie now spends her days singing Disney songs and dancing about the house in her Elsa or Rapunzel dress.
I have to say, Disney Life is amazing and it’s well worth the £4.99 a month. As it’s Winter, we tend to do family movie night at least once a week so at £1.25ish a film, that’s not too bad!
How To Maximise Influencer Relationships –
I‘m sure many people saw this week the between YouTuber Elle Darby and the White Moose Hotel in Ireland. It was such a horrible thing to watch unfold. If you’re not sure of the story, Elle pitched to the White Moose Hotel, asking to review it in return for a free or discounted stay. The White Moose Hotel, instead of responding to her, shared her e-mail online which went viral. The backlash after that was horrendous and the amount of people calling influencers ‘freeloaders’ and worse was crazy!
I am a huge fan of Emily Leary’s blog ‘A Mummy Too’ and she did a little podcast this week with Paul Sutton from ‘Digital Download’, discussing the viral story, their opinion on it and how it should have been handle. They also discussed the nature of influence and what makes a great influencer/brand relationship. If you are an influencer and you want more tips about pitching to brands and working with brands, it’s a great little listen. You can catch it here: How To Maximise Influencer Relationships.
A List Of 24 Books To Read This Year –
I know this one is cheating a bit and I promise I’ll be sharing some more ‘creative’ makes as of next week. But, then only thing I’ve made this week is a list of all the books I want to read this year.
The list features 24 books, most of which will be released in 2018 and are set to be chart toppers. It’s definitely worth a peek if you want some reading inspiration! You can see what I’ve included here: 24 Books To Read In 2018.
White Shirt & Denim Skirt –
I’ve been spending a lot of time indoors this weeknavoiding the cold, rainy days. I am so ready for Spring now and wish I could wear this outfit outdoors. When I’m at home, I hate wearing jeans and tend to wear lots of comfy skirts and lounge bottoms. My go to outfit is normally a loose blouse and a skirt. My favourite skirt is this denim one below. It goes with absolutely everything.
I can’t wait for the warmer days to come so I can wear this out of the house, teamed with a gorgeous pair of sandals. I also have a slight addiction to blouses and have this one in several different colours; pink, black, polkadot and blue. I love how loose fitting this one is. It’s super comfortable and I love the style of it.
Valentines Giveaways –
How absolutely gorgeous are these flowers? Valentines day is on the way and this week I reviewed these beautiful flowers from ‘The Real Flower Company’. They smell incredible. I’ve never had natural flowers that smell this intense before. I keep getting wafts of turkish delight every time I walk by them. They arrived in style as well, via next day delivery and in a giant, luxurious green box tied up with a silk green ribbon.
I’m running a few Valentines giveaways this week, including a chance to win this Valentines Posey. You can enter via my post ‘Give The Gift Of Flowers With The Real Flower Company‘. If you fancy a little cheerful treat for yourself, I definitely recommend getting some of these!
