There is something a little bit magical about a treasure hunt isn’t there?

If it’s raining you can easily create one indoors, if the weather is on your side, then it’s such a fun way to get some fresh air, burn off some energy and keep those little explorers busy!

If you’ve been following our blog, then you’ll know that we are chief Trunki testers (check out our reviews of the PaddlePak and ToddlePak) and this week we were sent our very own Trunki suitcase to review.

Here was me thinking that it would be absolutely perfect for taking away with us on holiday, but as soon as Evie opened the parcel and met Benny the Cat, one of the many fun suitcase designs you can choose from, she had other ideas.

Trunki Treasure HuntBenny has swiftly become Evie’s new best friend. He has instantly replaced every toy she has ever favoured and from the moment she gets up, to the moment she goes to bed, it’s really hard to separate them.

Whether she’s riding on him, pulling him around with a soft toy attached, or filling him with treasures, he has become her ultimate companion, and we’re starting to wonder if she realises he’s actually a suitcase, and not a real toy to be played with.

So how does Benny the suitcase fit in with a treasure hunt?

Trunki Treasure Hunt

Evie’s imagination is so lovely at the moment, so this week we decided to couple her love for Benny and the outdoors, and stimulate her imagination with a treasure hunt.

Evie was ecstatic about getting to take Benny outside and insisted on pulling him all the way to the fields. We’re not quite sure if she actually thinks he’s a real cat.

Seeing as Benny was joining us, we decided to add a travel twist to the treasure hunt, hiding all the things you’d need to pack in your suitcase if you are going on holiday.

Trunki Treasure Hunt

From sun cream, to a sun hat, to summer dresses, swimming costumes, sun glasses and even a bed time story all about adventure, we set off about the fields and lanes to find Evie’s hidden possessions

She had so much fun!

I’ve never seen her so excited before, squealing ‘Mummy look, Evie’s *insert item here*’ every time we stumbled across something new.

From jewellery to shoes, she skipped through the fields trying to hunt her things, packing them all back in her suitcase when she found them.

Trunki Treasure HuntI did keep them all in a close area so that they didn’t get lost or blown away, but the treasure hunt still took us nearly forty minutes, which is the perfect amount of entertainment time!

Evie is so curious but one thing she is not very good at at the moment is taking in her surroundings.

She’s certainly one to charge head first onwards, without looking where she’s going, always ending up walking into people or things.

Trunki Treasure HuntThe treasure hunt was such a fun way to teach Evie about taking notice of where she is and whats around her. Plus, packing her Trunki suitcase full of her treasures, is a great start to teaching her about travel, as we have some exciting plans to go away for a few months in the coming year.

Benny the Cat will certainly be joining us, I feel like we’ll have hours of entertainment in the airport, just with Evie’s new companion.

Trunki Treasure Hunt

So you want to know more about Trunki ride on suitcases?

All Trunki cases have the same shell, but if you don’t want Benny the Cat then you can either choose from one of the many designs available, or you can even customise your own! There are literally a billion different options.

The Trunki cases have a capacity of 18 litres, which means there is loads of space to pack toys and games.

Trunki Treasure Hunt

They are lightweight, durable and come with secure lockable catches to keep your favourite possessions safe inside.

Our favourite feature is the comfy saddle so that your little one can rest their legs in queues, or they can even ride along if they’re tired or for entertainment.

There are horns so that they can steer the Trunki themselves, or a tow strap (which has the key for the locks attached to it) so that you can pull them along with ease.

Trunki Treasure HuntIt’s even got a carry handle, perfect for those mad dashes to the departure gate.

Inside the case is an internal pocket to keep treasures safe and a ‘teddy bear seatbelt’ aka straps, to hold clothes and belongings down securely.

Whether it’s a day trip to the zoo, a treasure hunt or round the world travel, Trunki suitcases really are the perfect companion!
