As you know we’re beach dwellers. Rain or shine you can find us parked up on the beach, running in and out of the sea, building sandcastles and exploring rock pools.
Going to the beach often includes packing lots of things and oh boy do our bags get sandy!
So when the amazing Trunki offered us the chance to review one of their Paddlepaks, we got really excited. We knew it would be the perfect beach bag.
A PaddlePak is a lightweight backpack that has been designed with children in mind. It has a bright, attractive animal design and it’s also waterproof, making it perfect for use of trips to the swimming pool, the beach or even just outdoor adventures in the good old English rain.
We were able to choose the one we liked the most and decided on this really cute Octopus called Inky. The PaddlePaks come in three sizes; small, medium and large, and there are so many funky aquatic designs for your little one to choose from.
When our bag arrived, we immediately packed it up and tested it out on our short walk to the beach. Evie adores it and was so proud to be just like Mummy with her very own handbag.
I am so impressed with the quality and design of the PaddlePak. It really has been made with your toddlers comfort and agility in mind.
Not only is it lightweight, which is great for toddlers as you don’t want too much weight on their little backs, but it also has a breathable mesh back and padded adjustable shoulders for extra comfort.
We’ve found that all of Trunki’s designs are really innovative. The PaddlePak is just the same. A great unique feature of the PaddlePak is the roll top closure with a little clip. This prevents any water getting in or out of the bag making it perfect for adventures to the pool, the sea, or out in the rain.
I love the roll top. Evie has a fascination with zips so if this was a regular bag, I know we would lose so many items. Not only does the roll top makes everything inside that little bit more secure from the rain, but it saves any zips being pulled open by little hands, and any items potentially falling out and getting lost.
The inside of the Paddlepak is also fabulously deceiving. At first glance it doesn’t look very roomy, but when you unroll the top, you’ll be surprised to find so much space. In Summer, or for swimming, I could easily fit in Evie’s swimwear, a towel, swim nappy and a change of clothes, plus still have room to spare.
The PaddlePak is designed for two years plus and although Evie isn’t quite two yet, I love that this bag has years of growth for her.
This product has so many brilliant features. From reflective panels on the straps (which are handy for being out at dusk or night time), to a seriously sweet little grip that you can hang either your little ones sunglasses or goggles on to keep them safe.
Another great feature is a handy little internal dry zip pocket, ideal for keeping your little treasures safe and dry.
One thing I would say the PaddlePak needs for sure, is a chest strap just to keep the shoulder straps extra secure. If your toddler is anything like mine, she gets fascinated with the idea of taking things off and putting them on again.
Not only would a chest strap stop the bag from falling off the shoulders, but it would keep the PaddlePak that little bit more secure when you’re on the move.
I can see us getting a lot of use out of Evie’s new Paddlepak. We can use it for day trips, for nursery, we can fill it with entertainment if we’re visiting a restaurant or going on our travels, take it to the beach or to the swimming pool, the list goes on!
What do you think of the Trunki PaddlePak? Would you use it as a swim bag? Or for any old trips out and about?
