I cannot believe that it’s February already. How bloomin fast has this year gone? I have to say, January was such a productive month for me though. I did have a bit of a dip part way through, but I really feel like I’ve hit the ground running for 2018 and I’m so excited to see what February brings.
Even more exciting is that next week is my 3rd ‘Blogiversary’. I have some HUGE celebratory posts in the works including a lot of amazing giveaways to say thank you to everyone for sticking with me for this long. I honestly can’t believe that this blog is almost 3. It feels like a lot longer and a lot shorter all at the same time.
Anyway…onto my favourite post of the week, my little beacon of positivity – #LittleLoves.
Valentines Crafts, Bardot Tops And A Giveaway #LittleLoves
This week has been all about making Valentines crafts, wearing bardot tops and trying to read a book that I hate:
The Power –
I am still reading this book and I have to admit. I really don’t like it. I’m so tempted to put it down and give it up, but so many people say that it gets good.
I think the storyline behind the book is really good, but I don’t like the writing style at all and I’m really struggling to get into it. I’m finding that I don’t even look forward to reading it at the end of the day, which is definitely a sign that this book isn’t for me. But, I’m going to give it one more night and if I’m still not enjoying it, then it’s going to go. Have you read this book? Please tell me it is worth a read!
I LOVE Friends and I forgot how much I missed this TV series. I used to watch it everyday before I went to school when I was younger (wow, 10+ years ago now!) and I am so glad that Netflix has recently put every season up. I’ve been binge watching this when I’m doing admin work and love having it on in the background while I work.
I still find it so, so funny, but I have noticed two things since I’ve started watching it again. One – the 90’s fashion from Season 1 is very much the same fashion as today. Two – there is A LOT of things in it that they say and do that would be totally unacceptable nowadays.
My Body –
I’ve been working out really hard since the new year. I’ve been doing both my ‘5 Minute Morning Wake-Up Workout‘ and either 30 minutes of BBG everyday or 20 minutes of some other cardio. I’m really starting to notice the changes in my body. I feel so much stronger than I did at the end of last year and I’m starting to actually like my figure (probably for the first time in my whole 28 years).
But, I have been really over doing it. I ignored my body crying out for me to take it a bit easier last week and I really paid for it. I felt so burnt out and didn’t realise till it was too late that I was pushing myself a bit too much. This week I have listened to my body and I’ve actually taken rest days. I always feel if I take a rest day, I’ll lose all the hard work I’ve done, when in fact, a rest day will completely help my body to catch up and will let my muscles repair so I can go again. This week I feel so much more energised and better for taking time out. Burning out does not do you any favours.
Valentines Crafts –
We’ve been getting ready for Valentines day with some Valentines crafts! I have always loved doing messy play with Evie, but I love it even more now that she is older. This week we sat down and made some Valentines rafts, including a handprint bunch of flowers, a love bug butterfly and some heart ‘tokens’ that she’s going to give out to a few people she loves on Valentines day.
You can find out how we made these in my ‘3 Easy Valentines Crafts For Kids‘ post. My favourite is the bunch of flowers. We used a colourful flower pot and some green pipe-cleaners to make them look more realistic. Now they’ve taken pride of place in Evie’s bedroom and they look so cool in her ‘purple and pink’ themed room.
Bardot Tops –
This week has been all about the ‘off the shoulder’ look for me. I love bardot tops and jumpers and now it’s a little bit warmer outside, I’ve been wearing them a lot more.
I love the playful, stylish look of bardot tops and I’ve created an outfit that will take me right into Spring. I’ve written more about the tops I love on this weeks ‘What Mama Wore‘ post, so to shop the look and find out more, pop over and take a peek.
This is another one of my favourite off the shoulder tops. It fits so perfectly underneath the jumper, so I can keep snug when we’re going out.
Valentines Giveaway –
The flower competition from last week is now over, but I do have another ‘Valentines Giveaway this week. This time it’s for the most unique, gorgeous candle from a company called Mummy Loves Organics. These candles are actually ‘body melting massage candles’. When they burn, the wax forms a pool of ‘massage’ oil that you can use on your skin.
Even more incredible is that each scent in the collection, helps with other ailments that Mums, or Mums to be might experience such as; morning sickness, anxiety, PND, insomnia and eczema. They would make the perfect gift for any Mums or any Mums to be! You can enter to win one of these candles in my post ‘Mummy Loves Organics‘.
