We love Frugi!
If you’ve not heard of Frugi before, they are a gorgeous global brand who create vibrant, organic clothes for kids and Mums to be. Frugi is known all over the world as a leading ethical clothing brand. They’re also based in my home county of Cornwall! You can spot their clothes on kids everywhere and their clothes are easily recognisable by their colourful prints and gorgeous appliques.
We’ve teamed up with Frugi this month to review their new ‘Globetrotter’ SS/18 kids range. Their brand new collection features bright designs inspired by worldwide adventures and the hustle and bustle of discovering vibrant cities. Read on to find out more and to see the beautiful outfit that Evie picked out.
My favourite thing about Frugi (apart from them being ethical, Cornish and a company that’s big on charity), is that all of their products are made with the softest organic cotton. Their clothes are so kind on the skin, which is great if you have a daughter like mine, who is so fussy when it comes to the fabric of clothes.
Evie chose three things to try, from the new ‘Globetrotter’ SS/18 kids range. However, I’m so in love with the products, we’re going to be buying so much more as well.
Evie picked out a bright pink dress, a striped breton top and a super soft swing cardigan.
Milly Swing Cardigan – Soft Navy
Evie chose the ‘Milly Swing Cardigan’ in a soft navy colour. This colour goes with most of Evie’s wardrobe and as it’s still so chilly out, it’s perfect for layering over the top of her clothes.
The cardigan is also available in a sun yellow and rainbow knit colour. We are very, very tempted to get the sun yellow as well! How adorable are the button fastenings on the front? The pops of colour are such a sweet added touch.
My favourite thing about the cardigan is that it’s really soft and it’s also made from 100% Organic cotton knit. But, despite being soft, it feels really durable. I like that it has rolled edge cuffs. My daughter has a really bad habit of chewing on cardigans (I have no idea why), so this will definitely stop it from fraying easily and will make it last a lot longer.
It’s going to be the perfect garment for layering over Evie’s outfits on the colder Spring days. I also love how well the cardigan compliments the bright raspberry colour dress, that we also picked up from the new collection.
Perfect Pocket Pinafore Dress
Next up Evie chose the ‘Perfect Pocket Pinafore Dress’. She is pink mad at the moment so asked for the raspberry colour with a flower design. But, this dress does also comes in Chambray with a really sweet boat design. We love the other dress equally as much, so it’s definitely one we’ll be picking up for Evie’s 4th birthday next month.
I love that this pinafore dress has two buttons on the front. Evie is only just fitting in 4 year old clothes, but the buttons give her room to grow with the dress, which is great!
The colourful buttons are such a fun added touch and the dress is made from Organic Cotton Cord, which means its really cosy for Spring and also super soft to touch. The pinafore dress comes complete with a really sweet applique design just above the pockets. On one side there is a hummingbird with a flower.
And the other side is two brightly coloured flowers. I really like that Frugi also put button fastenings at the waist. It makes this dress so easy to take on and off. Every little helps when you have a wiggly toddler to dress!
This dress is the perfect play dress. It’s super comfortable for Evie to wear and doesn’t get in the way of her playtime at all. The fabric is also extremely durable and even if it gets muddy from splashing in puddles, or wet from paddling in the sea, it’s been designed to be long lasting and can be cleaned really easily.
It’s nice to find a brand that let children be children!
Lastly Evie chose the…
Louise Stripe Top
She chose this top in blue, but it does come in pink too, which we’ll also be getting in time for Evie’s birthday (can you tell we love this brand). The blue breton style top looks lovely with this dress and also goes well with some other Frugi dungarees we bought for Evie recently (more of that below).
I love the look of this top and how soft it is. It’s made from 100% Organic cotton Jersey and it has a round neckline and a scooped hem.
It looks really great under this dress and also paired with a few of Evie’s skirts and shorts. It’s such a classic style and great for taking little ones through, into the Spring/Summer months.
Just like the rest of Frugi’s products, I love the coloured buttons on both the shoulders. The buttons give a playful touch to all of their garments. Evie has also said that this top is super comfortable. She is terribly fussy when it comes to the texture of clothes, so that’s a huge win/win for us!
New Frugi Shop
I know lots of my readers are Cornish residents *waves*. If you are, or if you’re ever in Cornwall, do go and check out the new Frugi store. It’s in the Helston Industrial Estate, right by their main warehouse. It only opened a couple of weeks ago, so it’s still very new! I popped by the other day for a peek and the shop is so lovely. The staff are incredibly friendly and there is a little area at the back where kids can play, while you have a look around the store. I’ll post a picture of it below, just please excuse the poor ‘iphone’ quality picture.
During my visit I also picked up another couple of items including a really gorgeous rainbow print playsuit called the ‘Cara Embroidered Culotte Dungarees‘. I also grabbed a colourful pair of ‘Norah‘ tights, which will help us step very brightly into the Spring months. With Evie’s birthday coming up, I’m definitely going to be popping back to the store again really soon, to pick up a few more things!
Frugi is such a beautiful brand for kids. If you’ve not tried them before, you need to see for yourself how great the quality of their clothes are. For more of a sneak peak into their new collection, check out their SS/18 video below:
You can also see the full collection on their website Norah! The video was filmed in the beautiful Trebah Gardens in Cornwall. We’ve been to Trebah a few times ourself and it’s a must visit if you are ever in Cornwall. It’s so lovely for kids and the secret beach at the end of the gardens is a lovely treat. I recently wrote about Trebah on my blog. You can read all about it in my post; Trebah Gardens.
