If you are looking for Christmas gift ideas for 4-8 year olds, then you are in the right place! We also have an amazing giveaway for you at the bottom of this post. Keep reading to find out more! Before I get started though, how fast has Christmas come around again? I can’t believe it’s almost here! I’ve started Christmas shopping very early this year, in a bid to try and be super organised (I’m normally a last minute person) and I have to say, it feels so good to be on top of it already.
I will admit though, even though I have an almost 5 year old myself, I find that the trickiest age range to buy gifts for, is for kids aged 4-8! According to my other Mum and Dad friends, I am not alone in this either. So, with the help of them and my shopping list, we’ve put together this gift guide to help others in the same situation. If you don’t know ‘What To Get For 4-8 Year Olds’, I hope this guide will help!
What To Get For 4-8 Year Olds
In this gift guide you’ll find fun lots of amazing toy and gift ideas including; toys to play as a family, role play toys, craft toys, toys full of action, toys that will spark their imagination, personalised unique gifts, character favourites and of course something educational but fun!
Something to play together…
What A Performance by Orchard Toys
We love getting games that can be played by the whole family and this one is a huge favourite for our four year old! This game will honestly get your whole family giggling and is something you’ll all want to play again and again!
The aim of the game is to race your way around the performance board and be the first player or team to reach the finish line. In order to progress to the next ‘space’ you need to complete different tasks. From making fun noises, to performing actions, to practicing your acting skills! Can you pretend to blow up a balloon? Can you make a noise like a lion? Or can you lick your nose with your tongue? If you can’t complete a task, use the magic decoder to reveal the ‘hidden’ forfeit on the back of the cards.
I have to admit, I’m not the most confident of people and this game has even bought me out of my comfort zone. I’m also incredibly impressed by how well my four year can act and how much this game has got us laughing! Even the youngest member of your family can join in with this one.

Play-Doh Fuzzy Pumper Buzz N’ Cut Playset
Evie will spend hours playing with traditional Play-Doh, but I have to say I really love the new Play-Doh play sets. They are perfect for helping kids to develop a creative imagination. The Play-Doh Fuzzy Pumper Buzz N’ Cut Playset is our favourite of the new range and a great gift for any 4-8 year old this Christmas. We’re picking up two of these for kids in our family.
While the two Play-Doh characters sit in the salon chair, your kids can create the wackiest, silliest hairstyles. They can use the lever to crank out colourful ‘hair,’ then they can cut, style, and comb any funky ‘do they like using the provided tools such as an electric shaver that actually makes realistic buzzing sounds!
When your kids are finished, they can simply start over and create their next silly style. This Play-Doh Fuzzy Pumper Buzz ‘N Cut includes a salon chair, 2 Play-Doh characters, a comb, scissors, razor, electronic shaver and 5 standard cans of Play-Doh!

Something full of action…
Nerf Assembler Gear – Avengers Infinity War Hulk
Firstly, which kid doesn’t love NERF guns and secondly, how cool does this look? Avengers have teamed up with NERF and created several different ‘Avengers Infinity War’ movie-inspired play sets. We’ve got this Hulk NERF for my nephew for Christmas but also available is; Iron Man, Captain America, Star-Lord and Iron Spider (each sold separately).
The Hulk set comes with a gauntlet, three connectors and three NERF darts. But, my favourite thing about this is that kids can assemble their ULTIMATE blaster by combining and customising their NERF using any of the other ‘Avengers Infinity War’ play sets too. There are over 100 combinations of blasters that can be made, the only question is: what will they assemble?

Aquabeads Magical Unicorn Set
Aquabeads is something Evie has been begging for, for a long, long time now. I’m not even sure if I can hold off till Christmas till I give this to her because I know how much she wants this. So many of my other parenting friends have also expressed their kids love for Aquabeads and I have to admit, I love that they’re practically mess free but that they also help with kids creativity!
We’ve picked up Evie the Aquabeads Magical Unicorn Set (she is unicorn mad). The set includes over 2000 beads in 14 colours. It also comes with a bead storage case with lid, a layout tray, joint parts, template sheets, a play mat and a sprayer. Plus, it includes a display stand so your kids can show off their creations to the world! To make unicorns, simply piece them together, spray water and the beads will stick together. Just like magic!

Something for their imagination…
Sylvanian Families Baby Castle Nursery
When I was younger I was obsessed with Sylvanian Families! It all started when I was four years old and got the Sylvanian Families canal boat for my birthday. I love that these are still around and that they’re still making new sets. We’ve picked up this play set for my niece for Christmas and its such an adorable one.
The Baby Castle Nursery is one of the newer playset in the Sylvanian Family range. The cute nursery school building has been designed in the shape of a castle and features colourful decorations and playground equipment like a slide, swing and seesaw. How adorable is this?
It’s also got a reversible floor panel which can be adjusted to change the internal/external floor space of the building. This means it can be played with in several different ways. I also love that it can be connected to other play sets (sold separately) such as the Baby Castle Playground and the Sunshine Nursery Bus.

Something educational but fun…
Beaker Creatures Liquid Reactor Super Lab
I don’t know any kid who doesn’t love collectibles! But, Beaker Creatures definitely blasts all other collectibles out of the water by combining the learning of science with the surprise of collectibles!
The Beaker Creatures Liquid Reactor Super Lab is such a fun toy! It’s where children can not only create bubbling, fizzing reactions, but, they can also use it to extract their ‘Beaker Creature’ collectible. How cool is that?
There are 35 creatures to collect in the Beaker Creature range, from five different planets. Will your kids be lucky and uncover one of the rare 24-carat Creatures?
To use this toy, kids simply drop a Beaker Creature reactor pod into the chamber. They then pump in some water with the hydroplungers and watch the fizzing, bubbling reaction to reveal which creature they have inside. This awesome lab set is made up of 15 pieces including two beaker creature reactor pods, two classification cards, two double-sided mini-posters which feature amazing science facts, two Hydroplunger, two beakers, a liquid reactor super lab base, a set of tongs and a stir rod. If that’s not enough, it also includes an experiment guide that features step-by-step instructions for FIVE different experiments!

The Tree, The Key & Me Personalised Book
We got Evie this personalised book a few months ago, but we love it so much that I’m picking it up for some family members kids too! This is the most unique personalised kids book I’ve ever come across. It can be personalised in not one, not two, but in seven different ways. You can make the main character look exactly like your child by designing the hair, the eye colour, the skin colour and so much more. How cool is that?
I’ve actually written a full review about this book because we love it so much. You can find our review of it here: The Tree The Key and Me.
Evie finds it so magical being the main character of her very own book and if you are looking for a unique, one of a kind gift for your kids, then this is it!

Something full of character…
PJ Masks Illumi-Mates
I couldn’t resist including something PJ masks in Evie’s Christmas sack this year. Simply because Evie and ALL of her friends seem so obsessed with this show! I saw these little illumi-mates lights and thought they’d make the perfect stocking fillers. Plus, the fact that they’re designed for night time makes them even more special for your kids, who probably love ‘saving the day at night’, just like the PJ Masks crew.
If you love the idea of these colour changing LED lights, but you aren’t a fan of PJ Masks, then you’ll be pleased to know that you can also get them in other ranges. Illumi-mates lights are available in the following characters; My Little Pony, PAW Patrol, Star Wars, Shimmer & Shine, Batman, Avengers, plus so many more. These lovable characters glow subtly through a range of different colours; from reds to purples to blue. One thing I love about them is that the lights stay cool to the touch, making them great for your kids to carry around, or for them to be left on as a night light.
