Hi guys! Life Unexpected is officially back. Yayyyyy! Not only that but I have some little changes to announce and also some HUGE up and coming brand collaborations to share with you.

It’s been almost six weeks since I wrote the post ‘Goodbye For Now: Sometimes Blogging Breaks Are A Good Thing‘. Six weeks out of the blogging world feels like a lifetime and I’ve found it so hard to stay away.

What's Happening With Life Unexpected

Over the last few weeks I’ve been dealing with lots of personal things and I just had to take a bit of a break. I’ve used this time off to focus on the backend of Life Unexpected and do lots of boring things like clearing up broken links and re-writing a few old posts. I’ve also spent time thinking long and hard about Life Unexpected and what I want to it to evolve into.

I don’t know about you, but I am really nosy and I absolutely love finding about what other bloggers are doing. I love knowing what brands they’re going to be working with and what plans they have for their blogging future. So without further ado here is a little post to let you know:

What’s Happening With Life Unexpected!

First off, Life Unexpected has just relaunched and I’ve really narrowed down the focus of what this blog is about and what it’ll offer to you. From now on posts will fall into a few set categories: travel, family, health and fitness, Cornwall and fashion.

I’m also extremely excited to be collaborating with some amazing brands in the next few weeks and you’ll see some new partnerships in each of the categories. Plus some MEGA competitions are coming your way.

I will be focusing so much more on family travel this year. I think travel is something we all should do and I want to show just how easy and attainable it is for families. Our month long trip to Europe last year really made us catch the travel bug.

A couple of posts I’ve got lined up include our long haul trip to to Cape Town in South Africa and also our closer to home staycation to ‘Bedruthan Steps Hotel and Spa‘ in Cornwall.

I partnered with ‘Bedruthan Steps Hotel’ for the second time this month. It is hands down the most family friendly (and adult friendly) hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I can’t wait to share with you our review and show you why it’s the best holiday hotspot for families in the UK.

Now I have a full blown toddler life is pretty crazy and also very exciting. I absolutely love the age Evie is at right now. Our family life used to be the main focus of our posts. But after my separation from Evie’s dad last year I stopped sharing our life on the blog for fear of ruffling feathers. I really think that’s why I fell out of touch and out of love with my blog for a short time.

This year I’m not going to hold back. I shouldn’t be afraid to give my opinions or share what is happening in my life. So, the real family posts are coming back and in full force. I’m also going to be sharing a lot more things we do as a family (think messy play and days out) and a lot more products and brands we use in our everyday life. Upcoming collaborations include working with ‘Baby Dove‘ and the amazing ‘Orchard Toys‘.

Health and Fitness

I started vlogging in the middle of last year and I’ve been thinking really hard about whether to integrate my vlog with my blog or to do something a little different with it.

One thing I am really passionate about is health and fitness and I  really want to dedicate my vlog to healthy little tutorials. From homemade smoothie bowls, to fruity ice lollies you can expect my youtube to turn into healthy food heaven very soon.

Upcoming collaborations in this category include ‘My Healthy Kitchen‘ and ‘Googly Fruit‘. Plus a couple more top secret brand collaborations are also in the pipeline, so keep your eyes peeled!

So many people send me e-mails, tweets and messages asking the best places to visit in Cornwall, where they should eat and what they should do. Yet for some reason, I rarely ever post about Cornwall.

I live in St. Ives, one of the most beautiful seaside towns in the county and one of the most popular for tourists, yet I’ve never really shared anything about it! From now on you can prepare for lots more insider Cornish information to head your way. From days out, to top eateries and local events, I’ll be waving the Cornish flag with pride in the future.

I am absolutely addicted to shopping. Fans of my weekly ‘Little Loves’ posts will know that I am constantly online buying things or hitting the high street to find clothes for myself and Evie. For some reason I’ve rarely shared this huge part of my life on Life Unexpected. So in a bid to make my unhealthy habit justifiable 😉 I’ll be starting to share a lot more of what we are wearing and the styles we love.

This month I’m so excited to be launching this category by working alongside ‘River Island‘ and ‘JoJo Maman Bebe‘. Now I just need to get Zara Kids to collaborate and maybe my bank balance won’t cry so much for a little while!

It’s been a very emotional six weeks and I’m so happy to be back to blogging full time again. A lot has happened behind the scenes in my personal and professional life and the little bump in the road has left me desperate to come back and do something I love again. I’m sure I’ll share all that has been happening in a blog post this week.

What category is your favourite on Life Unexpected? Is there anything you’re looking forward to seeing in the next few months? Let me know in the comments below.

    • June 1, 2017 / 9:26 pm

So important to take a break! I’ve been blogging for 3 years now, quite intensively. I think the break was good, it made me realise just how much I love it and need blogging in my life. x

What a fantastic post. You are so lucky to live in St. Ives. I have great memories of going there as a child!

Thank you so much Jon. St. Ives is so beautiful, I feel so lucky to live here. A bit out of the way, but busy enough to have an atmosphere and beautiful enough to not get bored of. x

  7. May 31, 2017 / 2:16 pm

Sounds like you’ve come back all guns blazing! I’m sort of where you were 6 weeks ago in that I’m not sure the direction I want to take my blog but I’m working my way through it and hope to have better focus soon. And congratulations on all those brand collaborations!

    • June 1, 2017 / 9:32 pm

I definitely have come back blazing. I knew how much I loved blogging but didn’t realise just how much I need it in my life. I adore being part of the blog world. I’ve worked out that it’s ok to not know where you are going and sometimes, even the smallest thing can make you realise. I hope you feel a little more focused soon and I hope you don’t need to step away for a while like I did! x

  8. May 31, 2017 / 9:15 pm

Sometimes a bit of a break from blogging helps you find the love for it again. It sounds like you have lots to share!

    • June 3, 2017 / 6:00 pm

It really does. I knew how much I loved blogging, but I didn’t realise how huge a part of my life it had become. I’m definitely not stepping away again any time soon. x
