Wow, it has been a crazy few months.
It doesn’t seem that long again, that we wrote our post ‘Life Unexpected is changing…sad, scary and exciting news‘ but behind the scenes, we’ve been busy working hard to change the direction and branding of our blog.
It’s been a long and slow process but we’re finally getting there. We are so in love with Life Unexpected and how its evolving.
I don’t know about you, but I love finding about what other bloggers are doing. I love knowing what brands they’re working with, what their plans are for their blogging future and the exciting things that they have planned for their everyday non-working lives.
So within this post, we’re going to let you know about the brands Life Unexpected is currently working with, and what our plans are for the next few months, both personally and blogging wise.
I thought this would be an amazing time to re-assess the Blogging Goals For 2016 that I wrote back in January. So we’ll start with that before getting into the nitty gritty. The ones we’ve completed so far include:
Start an Instagram Hashtag Community
Our instagram community Curious Little Explorers has been so successful. We’ve had over 10,000 images link up and we are so astounded every week at how much our little community is growing.
Thank you so much to everyone who has taken part so far. We will be working with a major children’s brand soon (more on that as we find out) to bring you an exciting photo competition. Keep your eyes peeled for that!
To become a brand ambassador again
One of my goals for the year was to become a brand ambassador again. Last year we worked with the gorgeous Wet Wednesdays. They are such a lovely, family friendly company. We cannot recommend them enough, for all of your outdoor kids clothing.
This month we have hit our goal to become an ambassador again and have signed with not one, but two companies!
We are so beyond thrilled to announce that we are official Huggies Pull-Ups ambassadors. Over the next year, we’ll be taking you on our potty training journey with Evie, bringing you potty training tips from both a top child psychologist and the Huggie’s Pull-Ups team.
We have also just signed to work with Netflix as part of their infamous #streamteam. We’ll be bringing you some fun challenges (our first challenge is to sing on camera!) on our new youtube channel. We’ll also be sharing some of the best up and coming shows, that Netflix have to offer.
To get the opportunity to work with some amazing brands that I love
Aside from Huggies and Netflix, we are always so grateful to get to work with any brand that we are passionate about, whether small or large.
We are really excited to currently be working on some posts with; Debenhams, George at Asda and Caneston. We are also about to start work with a children’s clothing brand and have just found out that we’re going to be working with the gorgeous Busy B again. They create the most innovative products to keep busy people organised.
Working with major household brands is a very surreal experience. I do find myself having to pinch myself quite a lot.
To start a guest series
We’re so grateful for all of the lovely comments we’ve received about each of these talented mamas. Every week, each new mum gives us so much inspiration and motivation to chase our own dreams.
Sometimes, it’s just so refreshing to hear how other mums juggle both family life and work. It’s also nice to know that we’re not alone in feeling that niggly thing called mum guilt.
Other blogging news…
We still have some more goals that we’re yet to complete, including writing an e-book. We can’t wait to see how the next few months will unfold for Life Unexpected!
In other news, we are really lucky to be working with an amazing photographer Jack Westhead this weekend. Check out his website here!
His images are absolutely gorgeous and we can’t wait to work with him, as we have next to no family photos. I’m terrible for always being the person taking the pictures, so i’m incredibly grateful that I’ll soon have some beautiful pictures to keep of me with Evie.
We have finally started vlogging (thanks to a huge push and lots of encouragement from Huggies) and our first vlog for Huggies was a huge success. It has reached over 1500 views so far!
We’ve also just made a really short channel trailer too, so you can get a feel of what vlogs you can expect from Life Unexpected, alongside our work with brands. We have some big plans for our vlog channel and hope that you like what we are going to be doing with it.
Other personal news…
Our travel plans, that we have mentioned a lot in previous posts, are finally coming into place. Our leaving date is set for October 1st! We plan to go travelling for an extended period with Evie, to places such as Croatia, Italy, France and Spain. I am so beyond excited and slightly terrified at the same time. This will also be Evie’s first holiday abroad!
Before we head off on holiday, we’re looking forward to going to Devon for a mini staycation. We have been asked by the wonderful 5 star holiday park ‘Woodovis‘ to review some of their accommodation. We can’t wait to bring you a run down of our stay with them.
Right now we’re busy packing our suitcases, planning our travel itinerary and planning for the future of Life Unexpected on the road.
Wow, that was a lengthy and exciting post. We hope that you enjoyed finding out more about what Life Unexpected is up to.
