If you’ve been following Life Unexpected for a while, you’ll know that I am obsessed with wooden toys. Do you love them as well? I love that they’re not only always such great quality but they’re also better for the environment, they’re more durable, more beautiful and I absolutely love that they can be kept and handed down from generation to generation!
There is definitely something so special about wooden toys, which is why I was so excited when I recently discovered Petite Amelie. I cannot wait to share this company with you in the following post!
Petite Amélie is a French based company that was born in Lyon in 2010. They design and produce unique furniture, accessories and toys for baby nurseries and toddler bedrooms. Their products…they’re honestly stunning!
We were kindly gifted a few pieces that I’m about to share with you today and I have a feeling that Petite Amelia is going to become your new favourite kids company!
Mini Wooden Toy Kitchen
The first piece we were gifted is this mini kitchen. How absolutely beautiful is this? It stands at 40cm high and is so perfect to play with either on the floor or propped up on a surface or table.
It’s made from solid natural wood and comes fully equipped with a toy stove top and oven.
I cannot get over how adorable it is! It also comes complete with eight accessories, so your little one can get straight to work preparing plenty of pretend meals.
We’ve got this kitchen for both Evie (who is 6 years old) and Lior (who is almost 1) to share and both of them absolutely adore it.
The accessories include; one saucepan, one pot with a lid, three utensils and also mini salt and pepper pots.
The oven door also opens, which is such a lovely addition. Plus, the little knobs above the over door spin around and click, making the pretend play even more fun!
I also really love the white finish to this kitchen. It’s been so beautifully designed and has been such a hit with both of my children who have not stopped playing with it since it arrived.
It’s also been so good for teaching Lior some new skills and he now loves mimicking us! Every time we go in the kitchen to make something, he follows quickly behind with a pan and a utensil so he can copy us. It’s so sweet!
The Mini Wooden Play Kitchen retails at £39.90 and is suitable for ages 3+.

Wooden Fruit and Vegetable Set
Alongside the kitchen, we were also gifted this little wooden fruit and vegetable set. The kids love playing with this while they cook up their pretend meals and it is such a lovely set.
This 8-piece set consists of various types of fruits and vegetables including; an aubergine, mushroom, carrot, pear, tomato and an onion. It also comes with a cutting board and wooden knife.
The fruit and veg can be pulled apart (or chopped with the knife) and each piece is connected with velcro, so it’s really easy for both younger and older kids to use.
This set is so good for helping little ones to practise their chopping skills and the designs are very cute too! I love the little details on each of the food pieces. For example, the carrot and the apple have their leaves on top and the little pear has a really realistic stem!
The Wooden Fruit and Vegetable Set retails at £20.90 and is suitable for ages 3+.

Wooden Toy Parking Garage
The third and final piece we were gifted is this absolutely stunning Wooden Toy Parking Garage!
This garage is not only beautiful, but it is the coolest one I have ever seen for kids to play with! It also has so many great features and is perfect for imaginary play.
The garage has three floors to play with and comes complete with helipad. It also comes with three cars (one of them is a taxi), a toy helicopter and a couple of wooden petrol pumps that can sit on the ground floor.
It has a working ‘liftable’ entrance barrier and it has a car lift, which can be operated by a little wheel on the side of the garage.
Both of my kids love this so much! Especially my eldest who loves transporting the cars up and down the car lift. There are honestly so many opportunities for play with this toy.
Liors favourite thing to do is drive the cars around, especially up and down the ramps. The Wooden Toy Parking Garage retails at £44.90 and is also suitable for ages 3+.

I honestly can’t pick a favourite out of these three pieces. All I can say is that each one of them is timeless, beautiful, durable and they all look so lovely in your kids bedroom or nursery! For more toys, accessories and furniture, you can visit the Petite Amélie store here!
